A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

~ ~ FREEDOM'S WORTH IT ! ! ! ~ ~ by LadyX
Those early colonists who established the concept of a land free from England's harsh and restrictive rule surely kept that cry in mind!
From Lexington to Concord - from Trenton to Valley Forge - Charleston to Savannah, and echoing in the halls in Philadephia where the Continental Congress was shaped; men who crafted the birth of a Republic kept the idea foremost in their minds.
More than 200 years later, we still repeat the cry; America a bright and shining star among the nations of the world.
One of our Free Republic members chose that screen name to denote her own beliefs - that a nation dedicated to God and His principles could grow and prosper.
It is with enormous pride that today we present and honor our very own Freedom'sWorthIt !!!
Freedom'sWorthIt
Member since August 7, 1998
Knowing of my long association with Freedom'sWorth it, Billie asked for my help with the lead-in. Nothing could please me more, being privileged to meet in her in person in November 1998. In Charlotte, North Carolina we had a gathering of CAROLINA Freepers, FWI traveling from Raleigh, NC and I from South Carolina to attend.
Our friendship grew and deepened through e-mail and Freep mail, both of us Christian and committed to promoting a conservative America.
She was among those who attended the 1998 March of Justice in Washington, D.C. She is one of THE most compassionate, passionate and well-spoken among our many Freepers. Her expressions on a broad range of subjects are without fail from the heart and beautifully articulated.
It is with pleasure that I add first my own recognition to you, Freedom'sWorthIt!
My thanks to you, LadyX, for being our Guest Writer today; I knew you would do a beautiful tribute, for I've seen the expressive way you have with words. You know that you'll be called upon again!
My thanks to you, FWI, for all that you do and all that you are.....you are truly one of FR's Finest, and I hope you enjoy your day in the !

Coming upon your Reply # 27, FWI, I love the fact you incorporated into it one of my VERY favorite Psalms - # 121.
You fellows know The Story behind why it is, and, I know, rejoice with me..:)))
God is indeed our everpresent help ~ ~ ~

Thank you Lady for making me feel so appreciated. I'm happy that you're feeling better now. I just enjoyed a nice picnic down in the pasture under the shade trees with my husband and dog. My husband had just finished bushhogging (that's mowing) the pasture in his straw cowboy hat and it was very pleasant. :)

Thank you, Blackbag. Well - guess who was pushing me to get out there and FREEP? My dear, hard working, reserved, businessman hubby. Each weekend he would say - are you holding a rally this weekend? I would maybe waver and say - well - the weather, yada yada yada. He would say - simply, quietly: I THINK YOU NEED TO!
LOL - so he is the wind beneath my wings. My unsung hero.
He works so hard he has no time to Freep - but I will show him this nice thread today.
Thanks for the kind words - and for always being there when the chips are down and the right needs to be wronged and the truth needs to be put out there. I am sure there will be further opportunities for our gallant gang.

Waynesville is a beautiful area. We must have taken a thousand pictures of the same area that you've been posting pictures of today but our camera never did it justice like yours has.
To: ohioWfan
Thanks, Ohio! Well - um - it's a bit overwhelming - in a very nice way. People are so kind. Glad you are here - also to see all these beautiful pictures of North Carolina that VAlerie keeps posting!!
And, I again salute you for your son and for your aching heart missing him. Nothing I have done comes close to the "giving" involved in that! Your son - and others like him - are what makes me have hope for our country!

"The way the Blue Ridge Mtns. surrounds and envelopes you is comforting, kind of like nature is hugging you." How apt a description, Aqua!
Having lived 20 years in Winston-Salem and Greensboro, I often went to the Parkway, in all seasons.
One has not lived unless they have been standing safely on an overlook area, and BELOW you see a dark and dramatic thunderstorm, complete with sound effects, cross the stage from left to right!
They cast bolts of lightning down on the tiny landscape beneath in dramatic, unforgettable fashion.
Valerie, your artistry with a camera is SUCH a blessing to all of us!

Hi, Valerie! I just love your photos. especially the ones from North Carolina. My dad's family are from those NC mountians.
Some of your pictures show the farm museum, The cabin were one of my ancestors was born and raised in was relocated to the farm museum. I've never seen it yet but I imagine your photos have captured it.

They cast bolts of lightning down on the tiny landscape beneath in dramatic, unforgettable fashion. That description of the mountains made me think of this painting by my favorite artist Jim Gray. This painting may be too gloomy for some but I see the beauty in it. The words beneath the painting were included with it at the Gallery.
"One can sit for hours overlooking the vastness of these mountains and wonder. Although nothing man made can ever compare to God's handiwork, they continually inspire Jim's paintings."

Thank you so much, Billie. You know it was something I wanted to do and enjoyed doing. I'm taking it kind of easy today. READING!
I saved the beautiful card and will put it on my profile page next time I update it!
Thanks for today's thread.
