One thing we could do is demand legislation that no child offender is ever allowed on the streets again, mandatory life, no parole, no letting them go because of "over crowding", no time served, no good behaviour, just the rest of their miserable lives in a cell.
As for child killers, mandatory death, within a reasonable amount of time, no waiting ten to twenty years for them to meet justice.

Poof! I wish the moderators could do that to Tom Daschle.

ritualCryptic but fascinating. What are you thinking?

Actually, it doesn't "happen all the time". I heard on the radio today that so far this year, there have been 46 kidnappings. Last year there were 98 (I think I have that # right). These numbers have been decreasing every year.
Unfortunately, the media got huge ratings with the Van Dam case and they are now focusing on every little girl kidnapped. This is not much different than the "school shooting" or "dog mauling" hysteria. The media whores will continue to promote these crimes until we all believe that they happen thousands of times per year.

Missed the offending comment. If it was that bad, maybe a vat of boiling oil would be nice for him to swim in...

How do you juggle getting the word out to find the child and preventing copycat crimes caused by the hype? This is the question.
To: EggsAckley
Damn! I just did a Google search and found out that Missouri does NOT maintain an online sex offender database.

I see that image and say, "Lord why?"
It's time for good people to take back our society and not allow evil to have victory. How many of these individuals have played our court system and have gotten off on a technicality? Leaving valid evidence left out of the jury's knowledge and will allow these predators back on the street only to kill and destroy families lives.

I need some answers to this question.
How many of you are old enough to have noticed the difference in the behavior of children since the government took parenting out of the hands of the parents, and children took the role of, I am the one in control, don't do any thing or say the wrong word, or I will have you thrown into jail. I can do as I d---well please, an you can do nothing about it. I can say any rotten word I want, and you can not do any thing about it.
We are seeing a generation of these I am my own boss, who still feel they can do as they darn well please. They have never been taught morals, clean speach, obey, respect etc
The bottom line is to give parents, back the right to instill these basic rules into their kids lives, even if it means spanking their little bottoms to make sure they get the message.

I think both parents should be arrested as well. It was their neglect that allowed this to happen. Neglect in that extreme is criminal abuse.
Transient beatniks do not come with in any range of my daughter ever.
As well, I think the Van Dammes, the Ramseys and all the rest should have been arrested and tried for criminal abuse at least.
These people are walking death, indulging in their own desires and lusts rather than protecting their children.

"we need pictures of these little girls posted outside of the senate and say "stop fooling around and elect the judges that will PUT THESE CRIMINALS BEHIND BARS FOR LIFE!" The problem with that is that the ones who are obstructing Bush's judicial nominees are doing so for the reason that they don't want judges who will put a stop to mass child killing in this country. If the pictures of mutilated infants have no impact on these scum, what would make you think that pictures of these children would either?

My heart feels so heavy, it hurts.....
Ditto... When my 4 yr old and I were out shopping today, a skanky looking couple walked up to us... I immediately put her in the car with me and locked the door.. the guy said he wanted money for a hamburger...normally I'm generous (ya know, entertaining angels and all that), but dammit, my daughter's safety comes first. I woulda been a little less nervous if I'd had my friend, "Taurus" with me. No more going out 'naked' for me.

is a proven fact that child molesters cannot be re-habilitated cajun-jack, I believe this to be true, but was wondering if you know of studies to prove this???
Thanks.

The biggest critics of this case will only respond to those questions that appease themselves.

We have two cases of little girls being killed in the last week but before going off the deep end, why not look at what happened.
One 5 year old is playing in front of a condo with a playmate -- no adults around; the second one is in a house where they allowed a homeless man to sleep on the couch.
Two perfectly innocent little girls were killed by perverts because adults first couldn't take the time to go outside when their little girls were playing in front of a condo and in the second case they let a homeless man in a house.
Where is the adult responsibility in both cases? I would never have allowed any my three children play in the front yard without supervision at 5 years of age -- that is why we paid for a fence on our 1/2 acre when we lived in SoCal, and we lived in a quiet foothills town. Secondly, if I were staying in someone's house and they allowed a homeless man or someone I didn't know to sleep there, I would have left with my daughter.
I'm really sorry that these two little girls had to die because they were perfectly innocent, but isn't it time that parents who have children start putting their children's safety first and in both instances that did not happen?
As for the men that killed them, they should be put to death immediately so they cannot get out on some technicality by some defense lawyer and a liberal CA judge!
Go ahead and flame but I think if more parents paid attention to their children, then things like this may not happen so often! My two cents!

No, the word is not "choose." The word IS license. And morality is not subjective. Something IS either right or wrong. Moral relativism is what's behind the general decay of our society. Of course one can "choose" to do what is moral, or good, or to do what is immoral, or evil.
Morality is a "choice" and should be a "choice"? And you say MY statements "beggar good sense"??? My statements are not my *opinion* but are basic, sound and well-known (to the educated) philosophical Truths. So if this scum didn't KILL her whatever he chose to do to her would have been OK because that was his view of a "moral" universe???
I don't care what the "Meese Commission" says, either. They all probably have their own stash of pornography. Ask Ted Bundy what his porno addiction did for him. Ask any such perp - they ALL were addicted to porno. And I can attest personally to what porno did to someone I know very well. "Meese Commision". Who gives a rat's butt.

No, I am serious, I have lived long enough to have seen what is happening. I have a gnephew, that is 7, who is the rottest little kid, I have ever ran across. His Mom and Dad do not dare spank him, because he said he will tell his teachers!! So he gets away with cussing, talking back to his parents, totally out of control. I can not stand the little bugger, who is as cute as can be, because he has no respect for any one. Sad
