A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute
and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new
word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

ru4, you are my very best friend in the whole world. God planned that we should be friends, and in a marvelous way brought us together, even though were are thousands of miles apart physically.

I dare not put here just what you do mean to me, as no one could believe what a dear friend you are.

Believe me, you are NOT a figment of my imagination!

You are a dedicated Christian, conservative, concerned citizen and a bundle of fun all wrapped up in a package almost as tiny as Chelsey, with a heart as big as Texas.

FRIENDS

Good friends are hard to find in this world of strife,
And should be cherished each day of your life.
Truth is, friends can be fun,
When all is said and done.

They impress you with fascinating charms,
And welcome you with open arms.
They lend an ear and give an encouraging word.
And they tell stories that you've never heard.

Friends are like rare jewels, indeed.
They encourage you to succeed.
They give you words of praise,
And show they care in many ways.

They open their heart to you;
Their compassion is pure and true.
They make you laugh during your hurt and fears.
They help you cry when there are no more tears.

They are always there with love to share,
When burdens of life are hardest to bear.
They lift you up when you are down,
And share a smile when you have a frown.

What a spiritual experience God has created...
When the bonds of friendship are permeated.
Such a wonderful way for your soul to be fed...
And with true friends, you'll not be misled.

They are there in your hour of need;
That's why friends are special indeed.
So... show your friends how much you care;
Tell them that you too will be there.

Now's the time to express appreciation
To them for such a wonderful relation.
Open up to your dearest friends old or new,
And tell them just how much they mean to you.

Tell them they have a special place in your heart,
And that it would hurt you if you ever did part.
Expressions of love and friendship cannot wait,
Tell them today, for tomorrow might be too late.
