A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day 07-22-02
Billie

A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues;  salute
and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new
word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.  I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Will 'da REAL Pharmer Please Stand?

Phil V.

Phil  (da'pharmer)  hails from California,  and is one of the very first names I remember on the forum,  long before JimRob implemented the registration process.  It must have been sometime in the fall of 1997 that we were required to register in order to post at the forum,  because Phil is Freeper Member #119;  his anniversary date is 11- 30-97.

"Never Forget That Bill Clinton's Legacy Was found at the Checkout Counter."
: )

That quote is all you will find on his profile page,  except for the California flag.  Phil may be most well known during the clinton years for his cyber antics as Socks C.  (underthebed@whitehouse.com),  or for his weekend "Trash,  Trash,  and More Trash" threads - he kept us updated on all the latest headline stories of the National Enquirer,  complete with garish-colored backgrounds and those wonderfully tasteful photos!  : )

Phil,  though happily married for many years   (I hope I'm not ruining your reputation!),  also for the longest time carried on a funny cyber thing for DEB  (we ALWAYS colored her name fucshia!  It wouldn't be  DEB without the color!),  which was hilarious to keep up with!  I'm not quite sure if they're still together or not,  but they did have fun exchanging quips and barbs.  One very,  very funny guy,  Phil V. does occasionally show a more somber side.   Fortunately that doesn't happen often!  :)

Have fun today,  Pharmer Phriend, and....
You can sit down now!

Baby hair with a woman's eyes
I can feel you watching in the night
All alone with me and we're waiting for the sunlight
When I feel cold you warm me
When I feel I can't go on you come and hold me
It's you... And me forever

Sara Smile
Won't you smile a while for me

If you feel like leaving you know you can go
But why don't you stay until tomorrow?
And if you want to be free, all you have to do is say so
When you feel cold, I'll warm you
And when you feel you can't go on, I'll come and hold you
It's you... And me forever

Sara Smile
Won't you smile a while for me

Great pick for the freepers finest today. The Socks the Cat stuff was the funniest! Phil certainly kept us entertained during those trying days. Congratulations Phil!

I want to be at home with my pictures and scanner, but alas must make a living. Will check in later. Have a fun afternoon all!

How delightful to honor one of the VERY Phinest Phriends on the forum!!

Pharmer Phil and I phurst 'met' on one of the Famous Socks C. on I-95 escapades.
The timing was after Socks recovered from being run over and was shipped out to Da Pharm for Phil and Da Missus to bring him back to good health, with the able assistance of Maggie Thatcher - the (female..:)) cat belonging to Lucianne Goldberg, who then posted here as Trixie.

I jumped on the thread with a reply to Phil and he had no idea who I was, and tried cleverly to find out.
Actually sent side e-mail to ask if I were Lucianne in disguise!! LOL

Phil, some of the best and funniest times I've had on FR were when Billie and I were the Designated Safe Havens for Socks C. should he be further in peril at the White House.

Then there were The Others - my favorite, Altered Ego, where Phil V. and AE used to have FLAME WARS on threads with one another!!
Those of us who were in on the phun used to convulse with laughter, newbies choosing sides with one or the 'other.'
(may Altered Ego rest in peace)

By the way, Phil - Ida Mae Sandifer says HEY!! to Jethro...:)))

I went for a morning stroll today and had the soundtrack to "Brother Wherefore Art Thou" in my CD walkman. Billie, thanks for recommending this (a long time ago on another thread); Aquamarine have you heard it before?

Are you kidding? LOL, that's my husbands favorite movie, I've seen it several times and we also have the CD that we've just about worn out!

BTW...thanks for the nice compliment! :)
