A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day 07-22-02

A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues;  salute
and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new
word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.  I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Will 'da REAL Pharmer Please Stand?

Phil V.

Phil  (da'pharmer)  hails from California,  and is one of the very first names I remember on the forum,  long before JimRob implemented the registration process.  It must have been sometime in the fall of 1997 that we were required to register in order to post at the forum,  because Phil is Freeper Member #119;  his anniversary date is 11- 30-97.

"Never Forget That Bill Clinton's Legacy Was found at the Checkout Counter."
: )

That quote is all you will find on his profile page,  except for the California flag.  Phil may be most well known during the clinton years for his cyber antics as Socks C.  (underthebed@whitehouse.com),  or for his weekend "Trash,  Trash,  and More Trash" threads - he kept us updated on all the latest headline stories of the National Enquirer,  complete with garish-colored backgrounds and those wonderfully tasteful photos!  : )

Phil,  though happily married for many years   (I hope I'm not ruining your reputation!),  also for the longest time carried on a funny cyber thing for DEB  (we ALWAYS colored her name fucshia!  It wouldn't be  DEB without the color!),  which was hilarious to keep up with!  I'm not quite sure if they're still together or not,  but they did have fun exchanging quips and barbs.  One very,  very funny guy,  Phil V. does occasionally show a more somber side.   Fortunately that doesn't happen often!  :)

Have fun today,  Pharmer Phriend, and....
You can sit down now!

Oh, you brought me flowers! How sweet!!! What's up? :)

WAIT A MINUTE!!!! Is that ivy ....... poison ivy?! LOL

You are soooooo suspicious. These flowers are perfectly safe as long as you don't touch, smell or ingest them. :-)

When I first started posting to FR, I was posting on my roommates computer and of course it was logged in as Astonished. So to let people know that the opinions being expressed were mine and not Astonished's, I always signed off as Roommate to Astonished. That is how I met a lot of the people and it took awhile before they put roommate to astonished and Dixie together.

Cracking up here. I was so puzzled when I saw that post from Skinny to Billie. I just knew he had not turned over a new leaf but did not quite get it. Boy Skinny has his hands full trying to put one over on you, Billie, or whoever...You both are very quick...

I have a moral question for you.

This is an imaginary situation, but I think it is fun to decide what one would do.
The situation: You are in the Midwest, and there is a huge flood in progress. Many homes have been lost, water supplies compromised and infrastructures destroyed.
Let's say that you're a photographer out getting still photos for a news service, traveling alone, looking for particularly poignant scenes.
You come across Al Gore who has been swept away by the floodwaters.
He is barely hanging on to a tree limb and is about to go under.
You can either put down your camera and save him, or take a Pulitzer Prize winning photograph of him as he loses his grip on the limb.
So, here's the question and think carefully before you answer the question below:

Which lens opening would you use?

LOL, daisy! I don't remember exactly when or how or why we got where we are, but every time I read one of T Man's posts to me, I start smiling WAAAAAAAAAAY before I even get to what HE has to say! I can't help it!

Private and confidential to daisy and whoever: (I just love him to pieces, but don't tell him!)
