A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day 07-18-02

A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues;  salute
and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new
word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.  I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Nick Danger, That Is!

Nick Danger

Nick's FReeper birthday is September 20, 1998,  and you'll see the Virginia flag on his profile page.   He is the first FReeper I remember seeing with a signature logo,  and you could always spot one of his posts by that little guy in the trench coat.  :)  I love that little trench coat guy!

Yesterday we talked about LBGA and the work she put into the FReeper Photo Album.  Today I want to thank Nick Danger for giving the Photo Album a home.  He graciously offered his own site as a host for the album. In addition to hosting the FReeper Photo Album,  Nick is the Site Administrator for the FRee Republic Network,  an organization separate from, but born out of the FRee Republic Forum.  For further information on FRee Republic Network, please visit:

One last thing I want to mention about Nick is that he is publisher of The Daily Spin (All the news that fits our agenda), which you need to see! He occasionally posts them on the forum.   :) Here are a couple of examples, straight from the Degenerate Propaganda Media, Inc.:

Archives of Clinton Impeachment Days
July 4, 1776: Anti-Government Zealots Converge on Philadelphia
November 1, 2001: U.S. Bombs Hitting Mostly Puppies

Thanks for being one of FR's Finest, Nick Danger!

Hi Billie. Yes the fair goes all week. It's a combination typical "carnie" type stuff but as I posted yesterday we are a big farm community so lots of 4H stuff, local businesses, nonprofits and political entities have booths which giveaway what I call "fair junk", magnets and such. The kids and seniors love it!

Mr. D. is the county prosecutor so he spends much of the week there gladhanding with all the farmers, good ole boy types (township trustees et al).

Today is senior citizens day where seniors get in free and get a free lunch and afternoon "dancing" (if you can call it that)and bingo. They even bus them in from nursing homes. It really is pretty cute. One of our state senators is giving away a head band with feather (as in Indian type headdress) with his name across the band. Seniors (and kids)everwhere were wearing them. TOO FUNNY. By now many of them are sitting on benches nodding off!

The ribeye sandwiches are the best. It's run by our local cattlemen's association the meat is fresh and perfectly grilled (and the piece is twice as big as the bun!)

Re #87 - I like the Nanny Award on top of the RUB A DUB TUB, too - but I had to do it as a table with the HostessBabes as the background of the table and then the animated award on top. It's the only way that I know how to put an animation on top of a (rather large) still graphic without making the animated gif a really big file. I could do it but the file would be awfully large, and it would take a long time to open.

We've got that Anne Geddes print framed. A gift from the girl's aunt. She's seen the old home movies of them body painting in the tub. :^)

The Nanny seal seems only fitting.

Gotta go - got both the boys today plus gotta study for a test this weekend. :^)

Well, now, see - this is where you could use your new image posting skills - take a picture or two and scan it (or if you have a digital camera, do that thingie to put it on your harddrive) then I hope you got your Domania account to upload the pics. Would love to see some - have your husband take one of YOU!
