Why?
There have been studies that suggest those who have committed serious acts against people started out abusing animals first. I know one thing, I would not want this character anywhere near my kids.
BTW, I'm not a member of PETA or anything of the sort, I like to hunt and fish occassionally and gut the catch myself. But at the same time, I don't believe in torturing animals for the sake of it. It was the pleasure they got out of it that was sick.
I know an animal doesn't have one, in the human sense. They are not self aware, for starters.
"If you live like there's no God, you better be right."
It's pretty easy to say you're wrong about that. Animals suffer when they get hurt and when they're lonely. I have also noticed a negative reaction when they don't like something. Cats and dogs will shake their heads "no" when they don't want to co-operate.
This is the sickest...what's wrong with that group?? I hope Charles C. Benoit's cellmate think's he's sexy and nicknames him "Babe". It's not enough, but it's something, at least.
Some people just don't get that there is a time for everything, and sometimes that time is just not now!
Hey RobRoy, how 'bout keepin' your mouth shut? I hope you knew enough to keep it shut when you killed the woman's dog. Or did you tell her that she needn't worry about her "souless" dog?
You know I once heard a story where a man called Paul Harvey to ask about whether or not his beloved dog would go to heaven. He had heard that animals don't go and said that he had been all alone for years and didn't want to go to heaven with out his companion. Paul Harvey said that he did not know but would ask a trusted source. Well the answer he got from Billy Graham was that heaven is a perfect place and that if he needed his dog to make it complete, God would have his dog be there by his side.
Sounded like a good answer to me!
I'd like to know the same thing. How can anyone enjoy the torture of helpless creatures, and yet still claim to be human?
That is simply not true. There have been many experiments where primates have show clear signs of self-awareness. In these experiments, they put a mirror in the cages with the animals for some time. Later, after some time, they painted red blotchs on the animals forheads at night. The next day, while many animals would have no idea they are looking at themselves in the mirror, there are primates who immediate try to wipe their own foreheads - indicating a keen sense of self awareness.
Me too.
If these stories were emblazoned "Brought to you by PETA" do you think folks might clue in that their emotions and passions were being manipulated?
I fail to understand why the senseless murder of the unborn -- deaths whose brutality boggles the mind -- doesn't work us up any longer the same way the senseless torture of some dumb animal does.
I've every respect for animals, mind you. It's one reason I don't eat meat as a matter of course even though I'm by no means a vegetarian. I prefer saving it for special occasions and limiting myself to stocks as a rule.
Cruelty to animals is not only despicable but a terrible sin for we stewards of creation.
But we are a nation who enshrines in principle the right for any woman to dispose of her unborn child as she sees fit ... regardless the FACT most abortions stop a beating heart.
All this sound and fury about cruelty to animals seems a bit of a put-on. Time to get used to some post-Christian realities, folks. Such disregard for suffering and devaluation of ALL life will be the norm, not the exception.
