Michael Newdow is NOT an athiest...
FOX NEWS (Fox & Friends per Fox News Rita Cosby) | 07/15/02 | Me

Newdow is NOT an athiest. He is a PRACTICING Jew according to his child's mother per ED on Fox & Friends according to Rita Cosby's report interviewing Newdow's daughter's mother(they have never been married). He has always been "interested" in contitutional law is the reason given for taking this to court. Isn't THAT SPECIAL?!

"Well, let's not leave out CAIR, who will insist that 'under Allah' be put into the Pledge."

Oh, this one's easy. Please, allow me:

CAIRhead: "We demand that the phrase, 'under Allah' be included in the Pledge!"

Me: "Hey, CAIRhead -- remember how you're always lecturing us on how we shouldn't get bent out of shape over the word 'Allah', and how you insist that it merely means 'God'?"

CAIRhead: "Yes, of course I remember that!"

Me: "Well, there you go!"

If ever a situation cried out for "turnabout is fair play", this is it. :) They can't have it both ways. If they want to make the "Allah=God" argument, then they can practice what they preach, and live with the "G-word" in the Pledge. Or, they can make (yet greater) fools of themselves by arguing against the "A=G" theory.

"I never understood how an emergency room doctor turned lawyer had so much free time on his hands and where he got his money to spend on these lawsuits."

Perhaps he made out like a bandit by suing himself for malpractice? :)

(Ever see that bad Australian satire called "The Road Lawyer"?)

Thank you for the Horowitz link. I've begun searching the web, collecting articles about the lack of mandatory notification of partners in the early years of
AIDS. Horowitz's ideas will be a great balance to those of the ACLU.

The problem in this country is not "democracy" AKA "majority rule". The problem in this country is minority rule.

More and more, it seems that the faction that can demonstrate the least numeric size gets to decide on what the rules are and how they're to be interpreted.

That's silly, but it's not too far from accurate. What is accurate is that "the minority" will have its putative will imposed on the majority by its proxy, the liberal establishment.

The original intention of the founders -- a Constitutional Republic, which would serve to protect the minorities' right (to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness) from being trumped by the will of the majority, has been perverted into a parody of its former self.

Instead of having government protect the rights of the majority, it's used as a cudgel to bully the majority into obeying the imaginary wishes of the "minority", as expressed by their "spokesmen".

Aw, hell, I'll shut up now. This crap just raises my blood pressure. :(

"I beleive Newdow is nuts. He is inconsistant, not very bright (for a double degree professional)...and seems to be a squirming________________"

He comes off like a spittle-wipe mad clone of Alan Alda on crack.

"If people want to say the pledge, complete with 'under God', then they should do it, without prodding from governmental institutions.

"I do not want a Government so big as to schedule my time for religious or patriotic practices."

Well dear, here are a couple of thoughts to chew on. First, what exactly is it about what you want that somehow trumps the Constitution? Secondly, what date was the Constitution ratified?

I'll make that last question easy for you. The answer is here, in the www.house.gov online copy of the Constitution.

It's a lengthy document, however, so to make your task easy, type control-f to tell your browser to search the current page for a piece of text. Then, type in the phrase, "our Lord" before hitting the Enter key.

So, I didn't quote it word for word. What did I say that wasn't true?

Ha ha. You're being deliberately obtuse, right? Just read it. You quoted her as saying the exact opposite of what she said.

You said:

"When their daughter found out about the decision she told her mother that she would say the pledge with UNDER GOD silent so she wouldn't be breaking the law."

Her mother said:

And she said, "Oh, it's OK ... um, um Mom ... I'm still going to say, 'one nation under God' even um, I'll say it quietly so no one will know I'm breaking the law."

"Say it silently, so I WON'T be breaking the law" versus "Say it quietly, so no one will know I AM breaking the law." The two are radically different. Good thing she shows resolve to do the right thing even if it means breaking the law to do so, though it would be even better for her to show her defiance by shouting "one nation under God". But from little acorns big oaks grow, so she's heading in the right direction.

All that's left for Newdow to do is to take a homosexual lover and send his daughter to fight with the Taliban.

Give me a break. You understood what I meant. The child thought that she would be breaking the law. That's the POINT! DUH!

Add one word and it approaches the truth. Whining deconstructionist liberal groups that have a disproportionatly large influence in America also have a disproportionately large proportion of nonreligious people of, er, Jewish parentage.

"The atheistic Jews control America, and are destroying it from within."

Newdow is an atheist who doesn't believe in G-d but that he and the daughter have celebrated Passover and Chanukah. He's your average BIG HYPOCRITE!!!

I wonder if he does atheistic humanist versions of these, a mockery of not just Christianity but also the religion of his forefathers.

He does have visitation with his daughter. There seems to be some confusion as to the custody of this young child. It's my understanding they share custody.

The mother and daughter attend the same church I do.
