There are lots of perfectly innocent and totally freaky accidents with varios chemicals that are perfectly plausible that come to mind.
I wonder if the guy is a pool cleaner....

I used to own a home less than a mile away from there. There are some homes, apartments, some high-rise condos, shopping stuff all very close by.

These "Homeland Security is a joke" posts that some people consider mandatory anymore are getting a tad tiresome.THANK YOU, and agreed. As to Ridge, he has a record, and that record indicates, in spades, that he is one of the best damn public servants and savyest adminstrators around.

Homeland Security might not be such a joke of Daschle and friends would FUND it. Believe it or not, all those FBI arrests lately would fall under the pervue of Homeland Security. There are a lot of things being done that the government makes press releases for, but aren't considered important by the media. Believe me...I really hope your right.

Man, I wish I were more like you and Dog.(/gag)Knowing when joking is okay or not.
We are only getting these "the world is blowing up!" alerts every half hour,
and this one is from the most crime ridden city in the world!
Hell, I bet 10 people were murdered there this week. I might even go back
through some of your old posts and see just how tall you are mentally.
Might be enlightening for us midgets.

Chris Gordon on TV4 said the bomb may have been under the driver's seat of the SUV, so it may not be an accident. Time will tell.

That said, I wish FReepers would have the same concern about us California FReepers when there's a report of an earthquake or some such thing on in our state. You're asking for an awful lot of concern.
That's interesting coming from Texas were many areas have been flooding for days..

Could be several of the largest dimocrat gas bags all exhaled at once in the parking garage, the fumes were ignited by a still-red-hot manifold. It could have only been one or two.
Had there been a crowd (herd?) of them, this would have been the result:
Noo-kya-ler, indeed!

"Not exclusively, but largely." [medical/dental]
ah HA!! If he worked for maintainance, I can think of a few things he might have had on his clothes...which might have flared or exploded when he tried climing into his vehicle. IF it was a chemical, whatever it was would have had to have been on his pant legs.
Hope the guy will be ok. Something about that "burned from the waist down part"....I'm not a man, but I automatically shudder in sympathy.

Well, under the front seat likely means something small and "personal". Can we guess that the van wasn't loaded to the hilt with explosives?? Has anyone seen a picture of the van?

Another effort by Dashle and Gephardt to attack Bush, blowing up in their faces.

Fire Department has now left, except for bomb squad. Huge police presence. This according to WMAL.

They've now shut down another block of Wisconsin. Closed now to Fessenden.

That's interesting coming from Texas were many areas have been flooding for days.. My comment was supposed to be mildly amusing, given the current earthquake map. Obviously, it wasn't amusing to you. Sorry.
