By comparison (sadly) this is small potatoes. Probably some local mosque-maven who listened to one Islamicist "Slay-the-Infidels" videotape too many.
I'm glad that El Al security terminated him with extreme prejudice, couldn't happen to a nicer guy. But I think that if El Al security hadn't been around, ordinary Americans would have jumped him on the spot and caused him some serious pain and suffering (if not killed him outright). As soon as the al Queda wannabes figure this out, they will all hand in their dynamite shoes and decoder rings and QUIT. I am about fed up with these losers, and so is everybody I know.

Quote from the LA mayor on FOX: "There are too many guns out there. We have to do something about the number of people with guns."
The suspect also had a knife ...are we going to do something about knives too? As an L.A. area voter, I'm concerned!

Ya know, the kids little dart gun comes in REAL handy when them politicians come up on the screen. Shot me a perfect 10 on Hahn

I haven't read the whole thread, so forgive me if this has been answered already...but last I heard, only THIS terminal is closed. You could very well be correct. Somebody said earlier they "closed down" or "evacuated" the entire airport. I HOPE you are right. Evacuating a terminal 2 miles away from the El Al terminal after a local shooting is an overreaction to say the least. But ... I don't put it past these guys.

I wouldn't count on it

Hi, cake, SEVEN PEOPLE WILL SPEND THE 4TH OF JULY IN THE HOSPITAL. THAT'S TERRORISM. I don't care if they're Israeli or whatever- they're wounded or dead. Close the mosques - send them back where they came from. They have lost their rights to be here and "the good ones" are harboring the bad ones. Islam is evil as per Franklin Graham's bold statement. That's why we won't learn about the guy until we've all calmed back down. It will be "by the way" type of press release.
It won't work this time. I'll start activism regarding telling the American people the truth. When does that happen?

That's pretty good considering how close together his eyes are.

I won't quibble over such a timely statement. They have sown the wind..let them reap the whirlwind!
To: M1911A1
LOL!! Evidently he expects all L.A. citizens, nay, ALL AMERICANS to surrender their guns to the nearest drop-off in a show of unity. What pathetic pukes. Wait, they've explained they will have ANOTHER news conference soon, perhaps to update us all on what THEY STILL DON'T KNOW.

Quote from the LA mayor on FOX: "There are too many guns out there. We have to do something about the number of people with guns." Hizzoner has it exactly backwards.
There were too FEW guns here. If a few more people had been armed and properly trained, they could have dropped him before he shot as many people as he did. Maybe before he shot anybody.

"And if it was terroism against Israel, the fact that it happened on American soil is of no significance to you?"Does to me...it should to ALL of us. Let US not make the same mistake that Greece, Italy, Germany and Britain did for all those years.

Forget terrorists. Seems to me most of the threats to the City of Angels come from its elected officials and select members of the law enforcement community.

Hey arnefufkin. Its the 4th of July you .- ... ... .... --- .-.. .

LA Mayor said there are to many guns in America!!!!
I tell you the truth, a couple of more incidents like this one and people will be agreeing with him.. Even some FReepers.
We are all ready to "surrender our freedoms" to "save lives"
Remember?

It was a prank call. This was not a white guy with a pony tail. Jesus. Thanks for clearing up that the shooter wasn't Jesus.

How fitting that an erroneous story bore an erroneous by-line. The writer was David Lauter. It appears Mr. Lauter decided that a white male did it based on the Stern employee or groupie's prank. I've sent an e-mail to David.Lauter@latimes.com.

Planes in and out. Just that terminal (that I've heard of) is closed. But WHAT a mess.
OK, guys and gals. I'm gonna make a PB&J and go sit pool side with a little guy who I love wwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much, if that's possible.!!!!!
Happy Happy Birthday, America!!!
To: RonDog
LAPD Lt. Horace Frank said two people were being questioned by investigators in connection with the incident, and a "massive investigation" was under way. "We don't know a motive," he said.
Try taking a wild-assed guess!!
