A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day 07-02-02
Billie

A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues;  salute
and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new
word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.  I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

Julie,   Julie,   Julie!

She flies the Florida Flag, and flies it as proudly as she does Old Glory. Below is a recent photo of JulieRNR21 with Katherine Harris, taken at a neighborhood coffee for Ms. Harris' Congressional Campaign. Julie is very active in helping to get, and keep, the Republican candidates in office.

I first met Julie on another political board before either of us found FR. If you're fortunate enough to be on her mailing list, you won't miss a good article on FR, a poll that needs bumping, or a petition that needs to be signed. Julie has been affectionately dubbed "The General" by one of her good friends, ST.LOUIE1, because of this photo, right, which was used in a collage for another thread. (BTW, Louie says she's the only one in all of FReeRepublic who can keep him in line.) : )

And psssssst! here's something else I just learned as I was getting the link to her profile page:
JULIE IS A FOUR YEAR OLD FREEPER TODAY!

It's Your Day, Julie! Have a great one!

where are you? Starbucks or are you lookin in the mirror?

With as much coffee that I drink, I should be so lucky as to have a Starbuck's franchise. However, my fresh ground beans create an even better flavor than Starbucks. A better deal even with the old blonde guy.

I'm so glad the encounter with the poison oak is starting to heal. What a terrible thing you've been going through. But, hey, you might not have found us, if not for poison oak! Some good has come of it after all. For all of us. :) Take care but don't stay away!

Morning, dixie. This is just really fun to do. What can I say - I like playing with pictures! (You know that though - and don't think for a minute yours won't be showing up here one of these days!)

Billie, I guess that make it Da Freepers vs Da Creepers - LOL

Those Whitewater Files days were really something. I, too, lurked for quite a while before registering on the 4th of July after reading through a thread soliciting comments from Veterans asking for duty stations etc.

You are a dear friend Billie! What a wonderful FR Birthday Surprise! I am overwhelmed by this thread.

When you asked for a recent picture, I assumed you were going to give the stern 'General' a makeover.

I had forgotten that it was four years ago today that I registered on our beloved FR. So much has happened since then. FR has grown into a nationally known website and has had tremendous impact on the political events of our time.

And thanks once again for making my FR Birthday so special and for this darling logo....

Dear Mama Bear: Thank you so much! Those red, white & blue flowers are gorgeous!

They are the perfect addition to my real garden which has red & white impatiens and blue lobelia in honor of the glorious Fourth!

You have made me so happy....

Loved that song.....would you believe I actually visited Pascagoula, Mississippi this April on my way to New Orleans....small world?

BTW we have a pesky 'squirrel' that often chomps on our flower beds.....we have started spraying the plants with hot cayenne and he hasn't done any further damage!

Thanks for helping to make my FR Birthday special!

Thanks for posting about the Battle of Gettysberg. I've been there twice and am so moved by the sacrifices and bravery of both armies that met there. It is truly sacred ground!

And thanks for coming to my FR Birthday celebration! I am so happy to meet you......
