A few of FR's Finest....Every Day 06-27-02

Posted on 06/27/2002 6:36:06 AM PDT by daisyscarlett

A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues;  salute
and support our military and our leaders;  tell a few jokes;  learn a new
word;  write poetry;  pray for those in need;  and congratulate those who
are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which
we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.  I
can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands
of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

ONE OF FREE REPUBLIC'S FINEST

RINTENSE

(aka Republican Warrior Princess)

Rintense has been posting a Daily Thread - "A Day in the Life of President Bush" - since shortly after the Inauguration last year. This thread enjoyed almost instantaneous success and has affectionately been dubbed "The Dose".

The Dose begins with a summary of the President's Day, followed by a quote of the day and then photos taken of the President that day. Rintense downloads these photos (mostly from Yahoo and the WH Website) and posts them for all of us to see. She also provides comments along the way and replies to posters. The thread is informative, educational, humorous and poignant. It is posted in the early evening and many of us cannot retire for the night till we have had our Daily Dose of W.

If you have not already done so, do check out the Dose link here. If you like what you see, send Rintense a freep mail and she will put you on her ping list.

Take a bow, Rintense. You have created and maintained a valuable and popular thread and you are ONE OF FREE REPUBLIC'S FINEST.

Nice job Dave - go find a dim/lib/pc idjit to kick.

What these witless wonders don't understand that this
country, and it's Declaration of Independence stand for
is the right to have the freedom to PURSUE happiness.

Pursue happiness however the indivual can find it in
his life. No where can the guarantee of how anyone feels
be found. Nor should it be. What a crock of pc goofiness.

My name is John Doe. Driving to my office this morning on Calif. Interstate 5 near Laguna Woods, I looked over my shoulder to the left and there was a woman in a brand new Mustang, with her face up next to the rear view mirror putting on her eye makeup.
I looked away for a few seconds, and when I looked back, there she was halfway over in my lane, still working on her eye liner. It scared me so bad I dropped my electric shaver, which knocked the Krispy Kreme out of my other hand. In all the confusion, of trying to straighten out the car with my knees against the steering wheel, it knocked my cell phone away from my ear which fell into my Starbucks coffee between my legs, splashed and burned BIG BOB and the TWINS, ruined the phone and disconnected an important call.
DAMN WOMEN DRIVERS!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sorry for this dumb joke!
Good day, everyone.
THE FLAME IS OUT
The flames are out, the debris is cleared...
From that day that we all feared...
To remember those that died that day...
We showed our American pride in many ways...
We hung out the flags and made donations...
To show our pride for our nation...
American slogans written on cars...
Sympathy came from near and far...
Volunteered our time to those we'd never met...
Hoping to aide in the worry and fret...
We lit candles with neighbors and friends...
Showing our pride just wouldn't end...
Red, White and Blue was seen everywhere...
Where have they gone, it just isn't fair...
Is it that people just no longer care...
Are they no longer saying those prayers...
Are all of the flags tucked under the bed...
Did they forget about all that are dead...
American husbands, daughters and sons are still fighting...
So why are the candles no longer lighting...
Flags went out of stock in every store...
Now they're no longer hanging by each door...
The war is not over, their still fighting for us...
So few show the colors, is it too much of a fuss...
So if you're one who has put your flag away...
Remember out soldiers are still fighting each day...
So take out the Red, White and Blue and fly it high...
For the soldiers at war that still may die...
Our patriotism should have only just begun...
Do not forget who they are and what they've done..
September 11 will stay in our hearts forever,
and so should our pride...
AMERICANS RAISE THOSE FLAGS HIGH
