According to Joe Hadenuf: Official Free Republic Position Parallels GOP On Immigration. No Big Deal
6/23/02 | Joe Hadenuf

Posted on 06/23/2002 12:52:24 PM PDT by Joe Hadenuf

Last night during a conversation/debate between myself and the leader/owner of the Free Republic, Jim Robinson, a rather stunning revelation was brought forth. I asked Mr. Robinson, which Republicans were vocally backing, and supporting Tancredo in his fight for our sovereignty? After some delay, Jim answered, “I have no idea. Immigration is not a big concern of mine.”

This is from the man that runs the most well known, and respected, political conservative internet forum in the United States? And Mr. Robinson resides in California?

Below is the exchange

Conservatives, Cut Bush Slack The Chicago Sun-Times | June 22, 2002 | Thomas Roeser

To: Jim Robinson

#939: Oh, so the Republicans are fighting for our sovereignty? Besides Tancredo, which Republicans are these Jim? If you could be specific.

#1034: Which ones are not ?

#1056: You never answered my question Jim.

Since you failed to answer my question, I will go first.

Given thirty years of this open border, immigration "free for all" that has resulted in many millions entering our nation illegally, I believe there are very few Republicans, or anyone else in DC, besides Tancredo, that are visibly and vocally fighting for our national sovereignty.

Now would you care to tell me which Republicans are standing with Tancredo and voicing outrage against this titanic, never ending invasion of illegal aliens?

At first I as was stunned, angry, and felt let down. Then after some thought I wasn’t too surprised.

Looking back at all the hundreds of immigration threads where many were deleted, disappeared and sent to the cornfield, I guess I am not too surprised. However, given the gravity and danger this country faces regarding this out of control, titanic immigration issue, I am still outraged, disheartened and saddened by Mr. Robinson’s response. Thread after thread Freepers have displayed genuine outrage and honest concern regarding this issue. And the outrage and insanity regarding this issue goes far beyond the Free Republic.

It’s escalated to the point now where many of our major cities in this country, such as Chicago, have now approved the use of identification cards, issued by Mexican consulates that will give illegal aliens access to financial and public services and more, as our so-called leaders stand treasonously silent, as our sovereignty is slowly dismantled.

This massive invasion of millions of illegal aliens has changed the face of many of our once great cities, from California to Illinois, to Georgia, to Tennessee, to Texas etc etc.

They are crowding our already over crowded classrooms, voting in our elections, choking off our social services, driving down the wages, while driving up our taxes, filling our jails, standing room only in many big city emergency rooms, etc, etc, etc. I personally know of six American citizens that have become victims of illegal alien crime, from having family members slaughtered on our highways by drunk driving illegal aliens, to stabbings, robberies and common burglaries.

And just recently, another young Deputy Sheriff was shot through the face and killed in California by an illegal alien, that has again fled back to the safety of Mexico. It has now been learned that this individual has already been deported three times, each time he has returned and committed more crimes in our country, leaving American victims in his wake, and each time he fled back to the safety of Mexico.

There are many forms of terrorism, and this continued invasion of millions upon millions is one form. And it's my opinion that it’s one of the most dangerous, most threatening issues facing America today. Even today as we speak, our federal government continues to allow in almost 8000 Middle Eastern men a month on visas. It is my opinion that this legal and illegal “immigration free for all” must be, stopped, extremely limited, and reformed immediately!

Again, I am extremely saddened and distressed by Mr. Robinson's response and lack of concern regarding this issue.

To clarify my position:

I want honest, hardworking, educated, healthy legal immigrants and I am indifferent to their color. An honest black engineer from Nigeria is no better and no worse than an honest one from India, from China or from Germany. I just want good people.

What I don't want is the Felons the Clinton administration allowed into the nation.

I don't want immigrants importing Hepatitis, Tuberculosis and small pox.

I don't want immigrants who are illiterate even in the language of the country from which they emmigrate.

I don't want immigrants who are here to r-ecreate the nation they have left, rather than assimilate into our rapidly decaying culture.

I don't want immigrants who are here to take rather than to give.

Race has nothing whatsoever to do with it, except to the extent that there are many many in government who believe that new white people must not be allowed in the country, in the interest of propagating "multi-culturalism."

I registered as a Democrat after I got out of the service. I actually wanted to register as an independent, but they explained to me that then I would not be able to vote in the primaries. So I chose to register as Democrat mainly because most of my family was Democrat. In my first presidential election I voted Republican (Nixon) and I've been voting Republican for years. I finally reregistered as Republican a couple years ago.

The liberals in California control the Democrat Party and they have a lock on state politics. The fruits and nuts and other assorted liberals control the educational institutions, the entertainment industry, the media and the local governments. They shepherd each new generation of smiling young faces through their liberal indoctrination machine. Other than that, they have very little influence. LOL (just MHO, of course).

Thank you for clarifying. I agree that 9-11 had nothing to do with immigration. The agents would have carried out their plot by any means possible. They merely used the path of least resistance.

They could have all trained in Europe or overseas and simply met over here on 9-10 for group vacation. There is nothing we could have done to stop it, without having the intelligence to intercept them before hand.

Again, thanks for clarifying.

Jim,

You ARE a stubborn one! We love you anyway.

And we can't thank you enough for this great site. I hadn't donated in the last fund raiser. But this thread has inspired me to do so. Consider the check to be in the mail.

Thanks for all your hard work Jim.

I've lived with and worked with Mexican immigrants all of my life. I've run payrolls for many of the big farming and packing companies out here in the Central Valley. I've worked in the fields and in the packing houses with them. I've broken bread with them (er, shared burritos and tacos). I've partied with them. I know that they are generally hard working, loyal, conscientious, caring, religious and very decent people. I have absolutely no hard feelings or concerns regarding any of them.

I am against illegal immigration from any country and you should be too...the key word here is ILLEGAL. Don't start a bunch of racist nonsense you cannot possibly back up with facts.

It obviously frightens people that large chunks of our geography will soon enough have a majority population that is not white European in origin. Imagine how much it frightens the white Europeans. It's happening to them, too, and their immigrants are Moslems.

I hear ya. Certain populations are voluntarily receding.

It all boils down to abortion.

God will not be mocked, you know?

I will tell you though that I do believe that the terrorists have much more hatred for the liberal leftist lifestyle than they do for the rest of us. They have as much as said so. Abortion on demand, loose morals, rampant feminism is anathema to them. They may hate all of us, but they hate the left worse.

I am sure Jim thanks you for that, as I too have donated several times to the FR cause. Maybe Jim will go a little easier on me now.. :)

"They may hate all of us, but they hate the left worse.

And do you think for one minute that they wil concern themselves with who is and who isn't a conservative when they launch the next attack? Just like they didn't care what color people were who got blown up in the WTC on 9/11 or even whether or not they WERE Americans, neither will they care about the political and moral ideology of any of us. We all represent the same thing to them, and while we can heap a lot of the responsibility on the liberals, we are in a way just as guilty because we have allowed it to go on for as long and to the extreme that it has. It isn't that there are so many more of them than there are of us, its just that they have louder mouths and lower morals so they are not constrained by matters of ethics.

That's because many of us who live in immigrant-heavy areas like New York and South Florida see immigrants who actually work for a living versus selfish liberal yuppies and free loading retirees. Immigrants own many businesses in those two areas, so we sort of grow more tolerant of them. I do agree with many on this site, however, that family reunification must end and that the loafers should not be let into the country in the first place. I'm for letting the skilled and entrepreneurial immigrants in and for kicking the housing project/trailer trash native born out as well.

Being that I have seen voters approve bond issues and public works boondoggles on ballot initiatives has made me highly suspect of "direct democracy."

I don't want immigrants importing Hepatitis, Tuberculosis and small pox.

Hepatitis is an infection of the liver which is transmitted almost exclusively by blood or semen. If you don't have sex or share needles with an infected person, you are probably not going to get hepatitis. TB is a very curable disease and the last immigrants who brought in small pox were the white settlers and the disease almost wiped out the indians.

Been their done that. And I am confident that you are not talking about illegal aliens, right?

If you don't mind me asking, are you a California native?

And just so me and you see eye to eye, I want to tell you I was raised in one of the hardest neighborhoods in the Los Angeles area. Not to far from what was known at one time as the senseless murder district. Most all of my friends back in my old neighborhood were Americans of Mexican descent. I was one of the few white guys in the neighborhood. A lock your doors and keep moving neighborhood. I not only partied with them, I fought and rolled in the mud with them, got into trouble with them, and attended one of their very untimely funerals, and I did a few other things with them, that I wont mention here....Someday I would like to tell you in person.

Those were good days for me and I actually still have a few scares as reminders. Most were good friends, and one of them, I still see from time to time.

I have since moved away from the neighborhood where I was raised, and have been fortunate enough to live in a very nice area of Calfiornia now. I now have new friends and two of my best buddies are Americans of Mexican descent.

You may have possibly seen me go sideways from time to time when some lumberhead starts beating his gums crying racism and all this other nazi BS because they dislike my position on illegal immigration. Believe me if you want Jim, but most of the Mexican Americans that I have bumped around with feel the same way I do about this continued, massive invasion of millions.

Nick, social security, as it now stands, is nothing but a pure pyramid scheme. Eliminating government waste, while phasing out social security is definitely possible to bring the problem under control. However, the alternative that many give is a form of balkanization, and I have my doubts as to whether the Mexican culture can adjust with American culture. Give the politics of the day, it appears that it can't.

Was born in Fresno and lived here all my life, except for when I was in the Navy. We had some problems with illegals coming in and working on the ranches back in the 70's and 80's. Thought most of that had already been taken care of. Haven't been in that business for the last six or seven years.
