The mark of the beast is here
You are exactly correct.
Husband is an OTR truck driver. Not 6 months ago, he was informed at a company meeting that our state was planning to begin implementing the above mentioned 'microchips' in all CDLs' (Commercial Drivers' License) issued beginning within a couple of years. The 'new' license was not going to be an option from the way it was presented.
No License=no job=no way to support ones family. The number of the beast...
Revelation 13:11-18 tells exactly what is to come.

"A State shall obtain biometric data for the identification of each individual to whom the State issues a new or renewed driver's license or identification card and shall maintain such data." Just what kind of biometric data "shall" the state obtain? "Biometric data obtained by a State under this paragraph shall be of a type that can be matched to the license or card holder only with the express cooperation of the license or card holder." Can you say "Gattaca"?
"There is no gene for the human spirit."

I have friends who are Coptics (Eastern Right Orthodox Christians) in Egypt, they now live in the States; they can give you first hand info regarding smart cards.
In Egypt, they put the religion of the holder on the card and since Egypt is 99% Muslim, one can only imagine the prejudice exhibited against these poor Coptics.
Many are marked for death while traveling to Church, bias from all governmental agencies, bias on the job, if one is in business they experience a drop off of customers, and so on.
We can not allow the USA to do this. First it will be your religion, then whether or not you are a gun owner, if one is pro life, etc. The amount of information on these cards is endless..

10 seconds in the microwave ought to take care of the microchip.

Wait till the HMO's insist on a biochip implant that monitors your bodily and vital functions in realtime to make sure you're sticking to the straight and narrow, not too much fat and enough leafy greens and not indulging in any substances bad for you or illegal or even legal like alcohol and nicotine.

Can't I just get the number inked onto my arm? See, I have this really sweet celtic knotwork design, and I think it's really enhance my federal barcode.....
In all seriousness, I'd rather spend time proving myself on the yard of the prison than get this.

This Bill requires that "a State shall embed a computer chip in each new or renewed driver's license or identification card issued by the State." A few years after it is implemented, the next bill will read:
"This Bill requires that "a State shall embed a computer chip in each persons hand or forehead to be used as a driver's license or identification card issued by the State."

I've already called my congresscritter regarding this "new ID card". This is a very bad idea and it is the gateway to tyranny- the likes of which none of us have ever seen.
There is no such thing as a counterfeit proof card. Once the criminal element "defeats the security features" or a black market in phoney cards explodes, newer more totalitarian ID devices will be "suggested" as the solution. This is not a slippery slope, it is the abyss!

What happens if I just lay my driver's license on a magnet to demagnetize the strip?
Then isn't it just your basic photo ID?

From Thomas Jefferson's letter to William Smith:
What country before ever existed a century & a half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. It is it's natural manure.
Let's get on with it.
Where do we start?
