Tribute to Vietnam Veterans....Please click on picture
The great intangible of America's wars beyond logistics, beyond strategy, beyond wonder weapons and Generals, is the spiritual force of its fighting men and women - and that is the force that the USO so serves.

FReeperthon, please if you love FR lets show our support.
The USO Canteen FReeper Style has been given permission to have an address where you can write snail mail and or send packages to our Soldiers in TF Rakkasan. We are proud to adopt this Sergeant Major to our FReeper Canteen"I can not say how to get a package to the Ranger Bns, but if you want to send one any way there are some great soldiers right here in TF RAKKASAN that would enjoy the package and most of them have been rangers anyway since that is where they seem to flow to when the get to the 101st. You can use my address if you want and I will pass it out to the grunts on the line for you and damn sure let them know." Address:SGM R A Herman TF Rakkasan HHC 3Bde APO AE 09355

G'morning SB. Wow! Great information about the Silent Ones.
Thunder, Lightening & Rain here this morning.
Breakfast is being served in the Canteen: French Toast w/warm maple syrup and lots of whipped butter. The first strawberries of the season are ripening in the midwest, so I've got a nice big bowl of lightly sugared sliced berries and a big container of Cool Whip. You can pile them on your french toast, if you like. Sausage links, orange & grapefruit sections, OJ and coffee.

Good Mornin. I was waiting for your ping to get in faster. I did sleep later tho. I was up from 1-2 and found myself dropping in on a private chat at the canteen. Being a guy,I think Servicemen would also get a kick out of these wee hour conversations, and yes, even the spats. So don't change a thing. We who have served love the attention and your apreciation for what we tried to do right.

Hey there, Larry. What you 'guys' don't understand, is the importance of the contribution you make to the canteen. It is the Vets, both male and female, who help those of us who are supportive, but have never served, understand what day to day life is like in the Service. Thank you very much for all you've done. Welcome Home. And let's have a dish of strawberries.

Hey, Snow! Here's one - the broom tied to the periscope shears indicates a "clean sweep," or the destruction of all targets possible.

I am making coffee and I will have strawberries on my oatmeal if you will have some of my daughter's wild Maine blueberries, hand raked on Moon Hill Farm(organic) last August(now frozen). My grandkids are 25 miles away. Anyone who wants to come to the Blueberry Festival in Machias is welcome and could find part time work rakin'.

Thanks for the great subject today!!! Most of the reactor operators and a lot of other personnel here at the nuke plant are former Navy nukes. I have heard so many stories from these guys and never tire of hearing them. One very close friend of mine that I worked with 15 years ago another plant, married a girl from Tasmania while on shore leave from the sub he was on there. They recently moved here and I'm so happy!!! I understand even the personnel on the nuke boats come home smelling like diesel fuel! Have a great day everyone!!!

Mornin' All!
Good job again, Snow Bunny!

About 10 miles as the eagle flies are the towers of the Navy Cutler Communications Center. Last year the Active Navy handful of about 200 were replaced by automation and civilians.Since the 50's the Maine purpose has been VLF contact with the sub fleet(I think this is accurate).... Here's another of my great ideas. How about a JAG day? We must have at least one lawyer on FR who can help with research.

Mmmm, blueberries, now that's the ticket! If no one minds, I'll toss some blueberries and strawberries together, with just a dollop of whipped cream.
Come to think of it, I'll be happy to start on some fresh berry pies if we have enough. Good morning to all, and a salute to our troops and to our commander in chief.
