Article says a "potent smell of gas" filled the air. So it doesn't sound as if it's a homemade bomb or land mine if this is true. Probably some burkha-babe laundress trying to wash Arafat's socks and everything and everybody got tumble-dried in an unexpected way when they exploded.

LOL! I didn't know 'refugee camps' had a 'neighborhood', 'houses' or 'buildings'. Those ancient, ancient Pallies sure are a creative bunch (... with their lies, that is)!
To: Lazamataz
we have simply
got to name the device that the Israelis use to remotely detonate Palestinian bombs under construction...

I'm still trying to figure out how a reporter in a "refugee camp" defines 'building' and 'homes'... It's all part of the same anti-intellectual demagoguery and hypocricy. It sells advertising, though.
To: Pharmboy
Palestinian officials would not say what caused the blast and tried to prevent journalists from entering the area. Are they trying to cover up a massacre or something?

They all are. The Palestinians are the only people to have their own dedicated refugee committee.

My thoughts exactly. Where's the outrage? It's all one sided, all hypocricy and demagoguery.
To: Alouette
My take on this is that they do not want the press to see the clear evidence of a Palie bomb factory.

From his lips to Allah's ears...LOL!

Palestinian officials would not say what caused the blast and tried to prevent journalists from entering the area. This makes me laugh, why shouldn't the journalists see what happened?

Palestinian officials would not say what caused the blast and tried to prevent journalists from entering the area. When does the press start to hyperventilate in protest of this like they did in Jenin?
I'm not holding my breath.

Here's what the PA will state in newspapers.
An illegal underground fireworks shop exploded in our peaceful
home district.
The next story will about "Loss of Water Supply to the district".
Actually a group of Hamas cut up water mains and started
packing sections of pipe with various explosives.
Oops - Chief Arafat.
If they get real creative...
the PA can say the Israel Army dug underground tunnels and
planted explosives to destroy their homes.
