My fellow Freepers ;
My cousin Darryl, who is 17, and his soon to be wife, Kim, are about to lose their newborn girl, Kaitland Marie. She probably won't see the Sunday sunrise.
Kaitland Marie was born on May 17, and weighed 8pounds 6 ozs. Nothing appeared wrong, but she wouldn't breast feed.
On Tuesday, the 28st, she got sick, and her Dr. sent her to Scottish Rite in Atlanta. She was put in ICU.
Wednesday, her liver shut down. Thursday, her kidneys. The Dr.s then told Darryl and Kim that the baby had no hope of recovery.
Since Thursday, the Hospital staff has revived her 3 times after her heart stopped, against the wishes of everyone involved.
Tonight, the Dr.s have finally said no more cpr, so her time is near to be with the Lord.
Both families involved are involved with churches, and have recieved many prayers and much food.
But, I feel that someone can never use enough prayer. So, I ask for the prayers of all you freepers for the soul of this little girl, and for the families involved.
Although the parents are both young, and they were not married at the time of birth, they waited so that Kim's Father's insurance would pay for the baby. Both kid's are really good kids who really need our prayers.
Lastly, how does everyone feel that the hospital didn't care for the parents wishes not to revive?

My heart breaks for this young couple in this tragic loss. May they come to know peace and may they look to the Lord for strength and comfort.
Prayers for those of you in the extended family as you offer them your love and support. May it provide some comfort to you to know that others care and are lifting you all up in prayer.
God bless Kim and Darryl and give them reassurance that their precious Kaitland is now in the loving arms of her heavenly Father.

I am thankful that the end was quick and without long suffering and pain to her. It's very hard to see a loved one suffer in addition to everything else. I know. God bless you and keep you.

And continued prayers as you and your families step through the phase of grief:
Denial
Bargaining
Anger
Depression
Acceptance
And a final step that Elisabeth Kubler-Ross alludes to but does not delineate:
Reaching Out.

Our prayers are with you.

Some people battle for cures against evils, and they need their very own gun salute when they fall, and, daring the others to call themselves sinless, they are the hired blessed souls of God. Amen.

VC - I just busted some tears after reading this today. Man, I am so sad - I've been thinking about you and the family for a few days now.
It's times like these that show His great glory and bring us closer together. Our faith must be stronger than ever now. God Bless.

Daryl, Kim and Kaitland are foremost in my prayers today. I know the good lord will open his arms and welcome Kaitland Marie into his eternal care and love. It will be her parents that will now need so much comforting in the weeks and months to come. There is nothing we can say that will take away the grief, but I do pray, in Jesus' name, that He will send Daryl and Kim and the rest of their family the strength to bear it and that they will ultimately find that peace that passes all understanding that is our gift from our Lord.

Our heartfelt condolences, vc. May God give you and your family the strength to bear this burden of grief.
Be Blessed,

Where do small children soar on winged rocking horses, and play hopscotch from cloud to cloud? Where do sweet babies sleep in great-great grandfathers' arms, and never once make a tearful sound?
Where do adventurous toddlers explore without ever a fall, without ever a forbidding "no-no"? Where nothing can hurt and nothing can break, and nothing's too high or "for show".
Where picture filled storybooks stand row upon row, with no shelves to straighten or dust, And thousands of aunties and uncles and grandmas read endlessly, never impatient or rushed.
Where there are never new teeth, nor ones to be pulled, no sick tummies, scraped elbows or knees; No big scary dogs to growl or to bite, and no stings from any bees.
No naptime, no spankings and no lima beans, no "boo-boos", no "uh-ohs", no tears; Just tiny faces in smiles, high pitched squeals and giggles, and unbound excitement as their favorite time nears.
Storyhour is at hand, as the Storyteller stands, amidst all their laughter and joy, Little feet scamper to feel His touch, as He embraces each young girl and boy.
After kissing each one, He sits down among them, placing a child on each knee, And softly He begins His story with the precious words, "Let the little children come unto Me"
With love and prayers for you and your family,
Hayley (mom of 4 on earth and 3 angels in Heaven)

Sorry to hear this viligantcitizen.
Praying for everyone to be comforted.

I am SO very sorry to hear this sad news about Kaitlyn. I pray you can all find peace in knowing she is now with God and he will look after her.
Unfortunately, it is those who are left behind that hurt now, because Kaitlyn is in no more pain.
I will continue to pray for all of you, that you all find strength in the Lord to bring you though this tough time.
God bless you all.
Willie

The family and I would like to express our sincere gratitude and a heartfelt thank you to all of you that prayed and/or sent kind words of encouragement.
We buried Kaitlyn Friday. The service was very beautiful. Rev. Jim Garrett deilvered one of the most relevant and poignant graveside services I have ever heard.
It really touches me on a personal level that so many people expressed their concerns about Kaitlyn and our family.
This thread, along with many others, just reinforces my thought that my money and time are well spent here at Freerepublic.
May the Lord be with all of you,
Kermit
