Freeper Prayers needed for dying newborn girl
Self | June 2, 2002 | viligantcitizen

My fellow Freepers ;

My cousin Darryl, who is 17, and his soon to be wife, Kim, are about to lose their newborn girl, Kaitland Marie. She probably won't see the Sunday sunrise.

Kaitland Marie was born on May 17, and weighed 8pounds 6 ozs. Nothing appeared wrong, but she wouldn't breast feed.

On Tuesday, the 28st, she got sick, and her Dr. sent her to Scottish Rite in Atlanta. She was put in ICU.

Wednesday, her liver shut down. Thursday, her kidneys. The Dr.s then told Darryl and Kim that the baby had no hope of recovery.

Since Thursday, the Hospital staff has revived her 3 times after her heart stopped, against the wishes of everyone involved.

Tonight, the Dr.s have finally said no more cpr, so her time is near to be with the Lord.

Both families involved are involved with churches, and have recieved many prayers and much food.

But, I feel that someone can never use enough prayer. So, I ask for the prayers of all you freepers for the soul of this little girl, and for the families involved.

Although the parents are both young, and they were not married at the time of birth, they waited so that Kim's Father's insurance would pay for the baby. Both kid's are really good kids who really need our prayers.

Lastly, how does everyone feel that the hospital didn't care for the parents wishes not to revive?

How heartbreaking for the family. It's so hard to lose a child much worse IMO than one who's entered the twilight years. May our Heavenly Father be with all of you.

I'm surprised the parents didn't have to sign a form saying "no CPR" but maybe it's because they didn't expect any problems as everything seemed fine at birth. I know health professionals do everything in their power to save lives but I don't think they should have gone against the wishes of the parents. Maybe as one of the other posters said, they felt they could save her.

Prayers for Kaitlyn and her family.

As long as I am alive I know that I will not understand why babies have to suffer. Someday (hopefully a long time from now), I would really like to ask Him a couple of questions and this is sure to one of them. In the meantime, I will talk to Him and ask that he heal Kaitlyn if possible and if not, to take her home and bring healing to the hearts of the family.

My prayers for the young couple.

Please know that God answers all prayers! Sometimes its just not the answer we want or we don't understand the answer until sometime later.

I know very well the pain involved as my wife and I lost 2 before our son was born.

And no, you never get over it, but you do learn to live with it!

God bless all involved.

I'm so sorry to hear this news .... absolutely heartbroken.

Lord, bless her soul as you take her home to be with you. Grant her peace in your eternal kingdom. Bless and comfort the family during this time. I pray they have the comfort of knowing that their daughter now rests comfortably in YOUR loving care.

Thoughts and prayers for the entire family.

To that dear home beyond the sea
My Kathleen shall again return.
And when thy old friends welcome thee
Thy loving heart will cease to yearn.
Where laughs the little silver stream
Beside your mother's humble cot
And brightest rays of sunshine gleam
There all your grief will be forgot.

If God has one extra miracle...thy will be done!

I would really like to ask Him a couple of questions and this is sure to one of them...

That makes two of us, though I hesitate to speculate that such suffering is really God's will.

And besides, little Kaitlyn will be in God's embrace soon, and forever.

Prayer bump for Kaitlyn

I know that God works in mysterious ways and that we are not supposed to understand, but why the innocent must suffer is difficult for me to understand. However, I am more than willing to wait a long time to get my answer.

In the meantime, I will say another prayer and try to gracefully accept whatever happens.

I am praying for a miracle. That miracle could be a full recovery, or an end to the pain, with eternal rest. God Bless this precious baby.

So sorry to hear of this. I will also pray for comfort for the family and friends.

God Bless you all. trussell

Last night, they unhooked Kaitlyn from the machines which were keeping her alive, and she passed shortly after.

She will be buried Friday afternoon.

I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you who came to this thread with Prayers and/or words of encouragement. They really were a source of strength for me and the family.

Thanks Freepers.

Kermit

Thank you for the report. Kaitlyn's first sight was to behold the Glory of Our Lord.

May our Lord provide you and your family comfort and peace. May He also provide strength in the coming days.
