I once watched a movie where the heavies were a 7 foot tall, monstrous race clad in glowing green fur. They also had fangs and claws.
At least one review that I read described this monsters disparagingly as "obvious Negro stereotypes." (This was in 1980, so Negro, capitalized, was still the polite and 'scientific' term.)
No logic will make an impression on a reviewer desperate to show how sensitive s/he is. If they can look at a 7 foot glowing green monster and see a black man, why not see Latinos in Lucas' creations?
The Libs don't want the unwashed masses to figure out that the push for World Government might entail a ramp to a slaughterhouse for the "unnecessary people".
I thought it was the best installment of the Star Wars franchise.
What an idiot. Lucas has always explained that Star Wars is INTENDED to be "irrelevant preadolescent dreaming". The series started as Lucas' version of the old "irrelevant preadolescent" movie serials he enjoyed as a child. Obvoiusly the viewing public has very much enjoyed this "irrelevant preadolescent dreaming". Star Wars has never claimed or sought to be anything else. To criticize a film and director for being exactly what was intended is disingenuous. It's pretty obvious that this reviewer's problem isn't with this movie, it's with the whole "star wars" thing in general. The writer just doesn't have the guts, or intellectual honesty, to admit it.
Well if he has it in for Latino's, then he is off the scale when it comes to Whites. Evidently it escapes the attention (or lack of) the leftist manureheads that the people who are the most evil, and who are the brutally cruel driving force behind the coming war, chaos, and the deaths of millions - are WHITE?
i'm definitely going to see it in the theater now.
So true. Remember what junk won Best Picture just a couple of years ago?
Shakespear in Love
Now, I have nothing against William Shakespear, nor the concept of love. In fact, I fancy both quite a bit. But this "un filme" should not have been voted dogcatcher....especially when the movie that should have won that year was this!
But you know what? Many voting members of the Academy admitted they never even watched Spielburg's Saving Private Ryan! They wanted "Love", not "War."
Hey, the STAR WARS pictures may not be perfect, but I'll watch 'em three times each before I ever go see another movie that these elites love, like The English Patient.
They're kidding, right?
They are kidding...right?
The Left truely is dead; deader than a doornail.
Only, interestingly enough?
They don't know it; &, no major dude's stepped up to tell 'em yet, either.
"Critic Rick Groen of the Toronto Globe and Mail makes Lucas-bashing a North American venture as he warns with true haughty elitism that you should not turn to Lucas 'if you happen to belong to that tiny minority whose idea of fun...lies in a story with depth and characters with complexity and a theme with meaning...'"
Oh.
OKey Dokey, *Rick*.
We should turn to you then, eh?
BWWWWAHAAAAAA!!!!
~groaaaaaann~ or is that, groennnn; either way, it's a wash.
"The Toronto Globe and Mail," huh.
"While being politically left-leaning, George Lucas is learning firsthand the secret power behind the dark side of liberals..."
Uh-huh...*feeeeel* the hate, George!!!
Let it escape you & the *transformation* will be coMMMMPLLLeeeeTe.
"But now, after a series of hit movies, an empire of successful spin-off companies and a legion of devoted followers, Lucas has become just another middle-aged, rich, white-man enemy."
Yea-yea; that's how the *script* the Socialist-Liberals have wrote for poor George is looking, eh?
He should never have have deviated from their utopian social engineering formula!!
Nope; he done went back to the *Old School* mentality for making motion pictures being a function of entertainment based on fantacy & fiction.
For his HIGH crime, Lucas shall be damned; but-good.
"Like one of his embattled Jedi characters, movie magician George Lucas is under assault."
Still?
It's kinda refreshing in a strange kinda way to be seeing this guy cannibalized -- & not *just* by one of his own kind -- but, by part of a beast he helped create.
How's it *feeeeeeeel*, George?
Maybe a *tad* like being mugged, or worse yet, raped?
Well!!
That's *OK* Big Guy; it happens to us all, ~on the Right.
...& sooner rather than later; more, rather than less. ;^)
Up until Episode II, the features of Bobba Fett were hidden in a helmet. By episode VI, he's at least as old as Obi Wan Kenobi, and quite agile. The clones featured in Episode II are not drunken, womanizing, ranchero music playing farm laborers, so where is the resemblance to the hispanic Lucas would encounter in his world of California central valley Modesto?
Wow, has anyone ever before stated the American Left's condescending moral philosophy so succinctly?
