raised the specter of a new, devastating terror attack on the United States
We keep hearing the possibility of something more massive coming. Do they (the government) know something? The government needs to get rid of the PC attitudes, quit pandering, and show that they are cracking down on potential terrorists.

"Was there a failure of intelligence? Did the right officials not act on the intelligence in the proper way? These are the things we need to find out," said House of Representatives Democratic leader Richard Gephardt. Sorry but they are legitimate questions. Or do you prefer to put your brain in neutral?

What the democrats want is to tie up the FBI, the CIA and the administration in so many hearings that they are not free to pursue the terrorists. I'm not even a little bit happy about them trying to tie these agencies in knots when they're busy trying to defend this country.
Pretty sick that these monsters are so venal they would sacrifice the lives of the American people just for political advantage.
SICK!

Bush, all House members, and each Senator will be totally to blame for the next attack. None of them have done anything to protect America from terrorists. Our borders are wide open, we have foreigners streaming into the country from every direction. The war on terrorism is a big farce. The sad thing is that the blood of innocent American lives will be spilled again because no one in our government (except Tancredo) has the guts to do anything about it. On the contrary most of our government officials are actively trying to bring in more foreigners. They must think we are all a bunch of fools. And we are if we keep voting for them.

God BLESS you Vice President Cheney...thank you for saying what the media FEARS the most.
Thank you for pointing out that "federal agencies" are not cute political "toys to be manipulated" during times of crisis. Thank you for pointing out that the FBI and the CIA have OTHER things on their minds then the demoncrat's and media's political ploys.

Yeah but if the average citizen looks even cross-eyed at a suspected "terrorist", well the dumocrats are right there to scream "racial profiling!!!" in your face, forcing you to retreat to your concrete bunker with head buried shamefully in your chest, while the big one takes place un-impeded and unapposed. F**k the scumocrats!

This is obvious, blatant, pre-election bull-sh!t.
The Senate Security Committee, in which many Democrats are seated, received the exact same vague terrorist threat warnings as the Executive Office at the time.
What concerns me even more is that people posting on Free Republic would actually give credence to anything that Daschle and Gephart would say.

We are going to be attacked, again. And again and again. It is unfortunate, but it's a price paid for being so "open and free". There will probably never be specifics presented as to who, what, when, where, why and how any attack will be perpetrated. If there were such knowledge, the attack(s) would never happen because security forces would squash it/them. Even the Israelis can't stop every attack. The Left's polemics are designed for political gain. Not for illumination. The Left-the Democrats-are the focus of treason in the modern United States. Not only did Democrats not do a damned thing regarding national security during the ribald reign of Bubba the BJ King, they are solely responsible for the emasculation of the CIA and other domestic and foreign intelligence agencies. If Americans haven't already been "moronized" by the so-called "education" system, they'd realize that.

I just heard Tom Dasschle say on C-Span "...Well yes we would want it to be,we'd make it a bi-partisan comission,a non-partisan commisson..." then in the next breath,he started naming Democratic Names(Gephardt,Lieberman) to head it up.This Devil is a piece of work and that holier-than-thou,smug look on his face---I only watched 3 minutes of him,it's too much for me to bear listening to him.I think,Dick Cheney needs to get in Congress' faces a little bit more.

If the Democrats really were concerned about national security... Leaky Leahy would have been removed from his Senate seat a long time ago.

That's nice. This means they are trying to cover their asses when the next, deadlier attack occurs. Will America then have the guts to shape up and do what it has to do to end the madness? I'm betting we don't. We'll just have more "diversity" commercials and Memorial servies with America hating Muslim clerics. Enjoy the ride down.

"The vice president attacked Democratic Party critics of the White House's
handling of pre-Sept. 11 terrorism warnings,
saying that suggestions the attacks could have been prevented were
"thoroughly irresponsible and totally unworthy of national leaders in a time of war." I'm sure Vice President Cheney gallantly restrained himself from saying that perhaps Dastardly Daschle was promoted well above his mental capacity to perform in such a high level position as senate majority-by-one-turncoat-leader. How much more damage does Daschle seek to incur upon innocent Americans as he demonstrates his inability to understand the vital paramount importance of President Bush's war on terrorism, a war for our survival and way of life, with his incessant petty baseless lies and insulting attacks on our President's integrity and sterling honor?

I think its irresponsible of the government to not run TV programs to educate the general public on the various types of threat we face as a people. No doubt, they are afraid of causing panic without an incident. Instead, theyre ensuring panic of ignorant masses at the worse possible time when the terrorists strike.

Vice President Dick Cheney on Thursday raised the specter of a new, devastating terror attack on the United States and said Democratic Party criticism of the White House's handling of pre-Sept. 11 terror warnings at such a time was "thoroughly irresponsible".Well said. Now it's time to really take the gloves off...the 'New Tone' didn't work. The damned dummocrats are tone deaf! Start beating them up on their hypocrisy...Gephardt and Daschle got the same briefings the President got. I heard Senator Shelby say so this morning...Bush can't try to stay above this, now's the time to come out swinging...I'd dearly love to see him land a clean right hook on Daschle's jaw!

Lest we forget: the fatherless-freak Bill Clinton gutted the intelligence community of human capabilities; made a big deal about doing and boasted that US didn't need it in the post-Cold War world.
Boy, isn't he a waste of space and air.

Every time the administration tries to give us a warning, the RATS and others make fun of them, and accuse them of trying to scare us.
I read the remarks on this forum when a new warning is issued. To now pretend they should have warned us is just too disgusting for words.
I cannot stand to hear one more word from RATS and others who have no respect for this nation!

"thoroughly irresponsible".
He has alot of nerve saying this when his boss "irresponsibly" continues to try to sneak through 245i. They are all equally responsible for the next attack, and are all equally behaving irresponsibly.
