LOL, us single moms know how to shop around! That was quite a while ago; I am sure that the same school is considerably more expensive now.

One problem is that kids talk. Do you think that the little girl could have told her class mates that her mom takes off her clothes so people will giver her money? How do you think that affects the teacher and the rest of the CHRISTIAN students in the class? Hating the sin means telling the mother her actions are wrong. Loving the sinner is trying to help her get away from that lifestyle..you seem to feel that just because it pays well that it is justifiable. Selling drugs to the kids at schools probably pays well...but she should be able to do that because it's only hypocritical to say what she can and can't do.,,,don't you agree?

but oddly, after a few washings...a small hole appeared in his head. No kidding. I loved that t-shirt and wore it until it fell apart....always thought the 'hole-in-the-head' thing was weird.
The rational explanation is that I haunted your T-shirt, of course.

$12 is for private home cleaning jobs, of which they can have several at a time (that seems to be the going price HERE but it can be more in other areas). Better than Burger King jobs or nursing home jobs at minimum pay. I know a woman who does only cleaning for small business offices here in town and she does very well. Yes, she works several jobs and it's not easy, but she manages her money well and she's doing fine. Most private jobs are under the table as well (not that I'm condoning that practice) so taxes aren't involved. People don't have to strip their clothes off to make a living.

Would Jesus expel the child from kindergarten?Did you read the story? Here is an excerpt:
"The school offered to waive the last month's tuition for the student so the young girl could remain in school to the end of the year if the mother would quit her job as a strip-tease dancer. They also offered to support the mother and walk 'hand in hand' with her as she worked through the spiritual issues involved and sought to better her life," said Hagelin.
These people did as much as they could to help this family out. Seems like the mom wanted nothing to do with their help.
What? She couldnt stop stripping for a month so her daughter could finish out the school year? Whatever happened to personal responsibility? I thought that was a plus on our side of the aisle.
The only thing this school didnt offer was to compromise their principles, good for them.

I'd say working is more moral than going on welfare, and if I'd had the body for it, I'd have gone through school that way- as it was, I missed most of my daughter's childhood, and she was brought up in daycare.
I agree wholeheartedly. I'd venture to say any form of legal work is more "moral" than going on Welfare. Plus, I really have no problem with what strippers do for a living. Then again, I'm a libertine.

A human being can only work so many hours before physical exhaustion sets in. A single parent who expects to be any kind of parent has to work less, not only from a parenting standpoint but from a financial one as well (at some point, the cost of childcare outpaces the money earned by working endless hours). Then there's the problem of blackmarket labor- no health benefits, no worker protection of any kind, and the single parent becomes a criminal.
Remind me again how this is better than stripping?

Jesus teaches forgiveness and this church follows that as well. I know that this pastor has worked with many people who have committed the sins you have mentioned.

Would Jesus have expelled the child?God has done much more severe things to children because of the actions of the parents. Remember the story of Achan? He stole some gold and clothes from Jericho when he wasnt supposed to. Did God just punish him? No, He didnt. Achans entire household perished because of his transgression.

Here's one specific: Matthew 5:27-28 - "You have heard that it was said by them of old time, 'Thou shalt not commit adultery': But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."
With these two verses, Christ teaches that not only are we to maintain a pure sexual relationship with our spouse ('Thou shalt not commit adultery'), but we are also to guard even against engaging in lust (or in presenting ourselves in a way that invites others to lust over us).
I could look up and cite numerous specific passages of Christ's teachings on sexual purity and on living a holy life and as expounded by the apostles such as Paul, James, and Peter. However, I don't have the time to pursue such an exercise right now, nor would it be that productive.
Several on this thread seem to lean toward a politically correct "tolerance" philosophy that society's values and norms should trump the school's standards in this case.

Exhaustion leads to double pneumonia, which leads to the Dr telling you to take time off work.... which will lead to no food for the kid, and no money to pay the rent, because you live paycheck to paycheck....
And the reason you live paycheck to paycheck is because you put your child before your job, and your employers reacted by denying promotions, firing you, etc.

And to the "temptation" to steal from teh cash register, or pilfer loose money and nice small goods from teh house you may clean, etc. etc. Excuses are inflationary.
