The problem is that you move-on'ers are obsessed with Clinton.

What about all the associates of Clinton who also committed serious crimes the last 9 years? Why is Bush moving-on in their case too?

It is an appeasement of sorts and it will rid GW of this slime ball when the heavy hitting stuff comes around.

No,it's the "camel's nose under the tent". Bubba-1 will now be in a position to claim "Ah made it all bettah in East Timor, whai kin't Bubba Bush send me ta Israel,so Ah kin get da Nobel prize Ah so richly deserve?"

You are so right. Bush is brilliant. Let's see where East Timor sits on our planet, shall we?

Maybe I'll withhold judgement for a little bit. If Clinton goes to E. Timor, then Bush made a mistake because a Clinton doesn't do anything public that isn't in their best interest. If Clinton declines, then Bush was trying to sucker him into an inferior position and Clinton wouldn't do it. Still this is a mistake for Bush just from judging the reaction of his base voters.

Everyone, I am really p*ssed about this. But I really don't want to hear whining and moaning and your threats to just sit out the next election. As bad as this is, it would be worse to have Kerry or even, the b*tch in the White House. That would be the end of the republic as we know it.

So stop it. Use your energy to put pressure on the president to stop this nonsense. He does many things of which I approve and some of which I do not. No one is going to give us everything. Face it, Allan Keyes is not electable. We want the RATS to sit it out in 2004 ----- not us!

Clinton's friends were the oppressors in East Timor......do you think the East Timorese are ignorant of that fact???? What a brilliant move to send them their number one enemy!!!!

Even more brilliant ... if the friends of Clinton's are also the friends of Bush. What other explanation is there for the sweet plea bargain that Bush gave Riady? What other explanation is there for Bush ignoring the Riady non-refund?

has bush resumed drinking?

President Bush sure did spend a lot of time with that drunk Ted Kennedy awhile ago. Then he had the 'pretzel fall', now he's courting Klintoon. Something doesn't add up about his behavior.

I agree. Sinkmaster should not be speaking out in public about policy. If he can sabotage the president to help his evil wife, he will. Bush better wake up and realize it.

Perhaps we can work on Laura. Does she know that her husband is sending a rapist to represent our country? Perhaps we need to get Laura up to speed. As a former teacher, she'll make him sit in the corner if he tries to pull pranks like this.

Is this de-rigeur for all US diplomatic missions? Or for ex-presidents? I'm not questioning your facts, I've just never heard of this kind of hand holding. I was under the apparently mistaken impression that US diplomats flew commercial airlines when they travelled. (OK, so he'll sit in First Class, that's OK with me.) I had no idea that even though he's a private citizen we foot the bill for that kind of treatment.

I would have sent them BOTH as ambassadors to New Guinea. I heard they still practise cannibalism there.

Doug, it seems to me as if bush is intentionally trying to get out from under his base and thinks he can attract enough democrats, McCaniacs and illegals that will fill the void.

I think so too. He just thinks conservatives are small enough to be irrelevant, and that he will get most of their votes anyhow because they "don't have any other place to go".

Can you imagine this happening:

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY, 1779, George Washington appointed Benedict Arnold to negotiate a trade deal with the British Empire. :)

Clinton used Carter in Haiti,

Well Clinton is no Carter. And Carter certainly wasn't the major league CRIMINAL that Clinton IS (by any definition).

Well, I don't understand it, but remembering that there is always a reason, I will wait and see.

Like you are waiting with regards to Chinagate, Filegate, Emailgate, the Riady non-refund, the death of Foster, the death of Brown, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc?

I suspect you'll still be waiting when 'you know what' freezes over.

How much you wanna bet if Clinton accepts the invitation to this parade in east Timor he is protested!, My bet is he will not accept the invitation for the fear of just that. Next thing Bush should offer him is a speaking engagement to a huge audiance of Branch Dividians, or some Cubans in South Florida

Should read: "President Bush has picked a RAPIST for East Timor Mission"

EXACTLY. Bush is ignoring THAT too.

Why is Bush moving-on in their case too?

Because Bubba-1 and Bubbette! won't give him permission to go after them.

I am waiting to see, forst of all, if this is even true. You have an unnamed source who sounds like a Clintonista to me, or perhaps the imagination of the reporter.

When there is an official announcement, we will see what is happening. Until then, there is only speculation.

I remember all the speculation about other things, such as how we weren't going to bomb Afghanistan, how Bush would sign Kyoto, how Bush would sign on to the World Court. All of those speculations werre WRONG.

So I think it is best to wait and see what actually HAPPENS.

See post 142

Bush can't "give up" the option of investigating crimes because it isn't an "option". There are NO EXCUSES for not upholding his oath of office and seeing to it that the laws of this country are obeyed. And there is no statute of limitations on murder and that appears to be what happened to Ron Brown and perhaps Vince Foster. Move-on'ers defend the indefensible and can only SPIN when they do so.
