All the quote in post 160 does is show that Hitler was a fascist. True enough, that fascism has shades of socialsim, but socialism would NOT agree with that quote. Socialism is not content on socializing the individual, rather it needs to socialize industry, enterprise and initiative.

Mine that I had for Clinton's entire term in office was "If Hillary is the answer, we sure asked a stupid question".

Hitler was a Socialist. Moussolini was a Fascists. It was the National SOCIALIST Workers Party. Not the N Fascist WP.

Very true...thanks for a good chuckle.
We'll be visiting Berkeley in a couple weeks for a track meet. Should be interesting since we have an NRA sticker on our Jeep. :o)

Mussolini began his career as a member of the Italian socialist party, both Hitler and Mussolini were socialists. People on the left refuse to hear this as they like to maintain the fiction that somehow they evolved from the right. The only pure non-socialist regime to have evolved in the 30's was the Falange movement of Spain who were traditionalist royalists and landed aristocracy alied with the conservative elemnts of the catholic church. Both Hitler and Mussolini set out to change the relationship between capital, the workers and the state. While socialists emphasize the state ownership of the means of production, the Fascists and Nazis emphasized control, as they realized that ownership meant nothing if there was no control. In the end the result was the same, a command economy determined by state policy.

No, he was a fascist.
The acronym NAZI stood for National socialist party. Just goes to show that communists and fascists are extreme socialists.

I found it interesting that H also had a type of Capital gains tax. If an owner of a business died, His whole estate reverted to the STATE. The heirs could only receive some of their inheritance if they worked in the business and Proved to the STATE that they were worthy. AND they had to wait for five years.
The Evil Dums would LOVE to institute that policy here.

"At that time, "capitalists" like Delano Roosevelt were increasing the size of the public sector of the economy." If you think FDR was a 'capitalist', you have been fed way too much liberal pablum. The 'New Deal' of FDR, and the 'Great Society' of LBJ were/are great strides against 'capitalism' in America.
Anyone who increases the size of the 'public sector'(i.e., taxes earnings to a greater extent) is not a 'capitalist', though they may 'feed at the trough' of capitalism.

Once more, you are suggesting Hitler was NOT a fascist? For the last time, cupcake, Hitler was a National Socialist.
I honestly can't see why you have so much trouble with this idea and don't see why you feel you need to spend so much time vigorously defending Adolph Hitler and his political philosophy.
Your shrill and strident claim that Hitler was NOT a socialist is at best laughable and at worst simply dishonest.
Dude, I am OUT of this thread. If you want, you can respond to anyone other than me who will bother to read it. I'm gone.
Cupcake, I will looking forward to your spirited defense of Nazis, National Socialists, neo-Stalinists and feminists on any other thread you feel compeled to 'contribute' to.

Whether or not Hitler was in any way a "socialist" or "national socialist," you're denying he was a Fascist? If Hitler wasn't a fascist, who was?
