Joined by gubernatorial candidate Bill Simon, President Bush continued his trip on the left coast today as he spoke to a crowd in San Jose, CA regarding compassionate conservatism. Last night, Bush attended a fund raiser for Simon and raised $2.75 million dollars. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!
31 The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD.
These are great today! (Not that they aren't always!)
We have to keep praying that George W. Bush stays strong in his walk with the Lord, that God makes HIS plans clear to our President, for HIS will to be done in America, and for Satan's plans to be thwarted not only in the war on terror, but in the war the evil one is waging on morality and justice here in this country. (And that includes inside the US Senate).
FWT, you're Bible selections are so apt for our time. Thank you so much.
I noticed that there were quite a few innocents RE senator 97's legs. There's a picture out there somewhere (b & w) of her in shorts and throwing a soft ball. Do you have that one of her monstrous knees, Howlin? That'd show 'em on tonight's dose! (I really don't think I could stand another exposure to her back view in swimsuit climbing onto that boat!)
Yes, usually, each dose is a delight!
I, too, thought these verses especially appropriate. It seems so often that the entire world is arrayed against our President and our country right now. That is NOT THE TRUTH but it is how the press portrays things.
Further, we know the old enemy of God, Satan, is alive and well on planet earth and stirring up so much trouble through his agents of destruction that it seems things will never be "right".
(It reminds me of a book I read called:
"The Long War Against God"
I don't remember the author, but I think about that book title often when I read about the situation in the world today - and in our own country).
And, yes, these Proverbs do bring us back down to the reality of it all. God is in control - but we are his agents in the world - charged with being aligned with His will and then doing it by His grace. There are many things we don't understand or know how to help. But we are not responsible for those things. We are responsible for doing what we are clearly told to do in His inspired Word - because those words are LIFE to us and we ignore them at our peril.
(Talking to myself here).
One thing we are clearly told to do is to PRAY = even pray without ceasing! Because God is for us, not against us, and HIS PLANS will succeed despite whatever the gates of hell may throw against them! So, you are so right, OhioWFan about us needing to pray that somehow President Bush stays in touch with the One who can guide Him and this country through these troubled times.
Somebody thought he was mine and I hated to disabuse them of that notion. He is such a charmer, not to mention he's obviously very, very smart. What a terrific young man you have. Hats off to your and Mr. Twyn's parenting skills.
Awww gee thank you :)
He really is a very sweet kid, we didn't go thru' the typical teen/hormones "angst" with him. He has his "bad" days, yes, but in general he is such a pleasant kid to be around...I often wonder what he would be like if we had left him in public school, he had such a tough time there, being a gentleman and smart was NOT a good thing
Works for me -- "Ambling" book goes to Mo1 from here
Tell ya what .. between my 75 yr old mother, 2 in school and a 20 month old baby .. lately it takes me forever to sit down and read a book.
I don't what to hold anyone up so how about you skip me and pass it on to MtnGrl .. But Thank You so much of putting me on the list ..
Infuriating!!! I just copied and pasted your post into an e-mail that I've sent to everyone I know who owns an SUV. Hubby and I have a '99 Dodge Durango, and they're not gonna make us give it up!
Truer words were never spoken, Gretchen. I don't listen to Rush at all anymore.
Mtngrl -- looks like you're next -- can you FReepmail me your address ?? I'll send it out as soon as I'm done :)
AP classes are great -- and I know what you mean about not pulling a kid out when they're in high school...my oldest son finished out his schooling in "gov'ment" schools, he was a senior the first year we homeschooled and was doing well. And he's turned out just fine--no weird tics or anything (LOL)\
Great! I think I mentioned a betrothal to him the other night, but he chose to ignore me, lol!
