Computer sensors for train tracks?
To: GRRRRR
Another FReeper was saying this during a conversation about high speed bullet trains. All it takes is for a terrorist to bend the tracks. Hundreds of miles and no one to monitor every inch of track. Toooooo vulnerable. Following that conversation the first train crashed, I never doubted it was terrorism.

Easy. Become an eco-terrorist. Solar-cook the placenta and eat it. Probably better than a thumb, but watch out for
the hormones if you're male.
Or, if you think like Richard Speck.

Off topic, but I too know of interesting 'hospital' naming (I am a ob nurse). Twin boys (who now go by LJ and OJ). Their names...Lemonj'lo and Oranj'lo....(think jello selections on the menu!).

Relax everybody, there is nothing terroristic about any of this. Trucks and cars pull in front of trains at RR crossings every single day(I'm being serious, not sarcastic). They might make the local news, but usually only if someone is killed or kids are involved. But they rarely make the national news, unless there is another high profile train wreck(s), like within the last week.
Kinda like school violence. Anyone think it didn't happen before Columbine? Yet in the weeks afterwards cafeteria fistfights would make the 6 o'clock news. Remember the school bus down in SE Tennessee that got hit by a train last year? Remember the school bus in Fox River, IL that got hit several years ago? What about the truck that pulled in front of Amtrak in IL a couple of years ago that wrecked that train? None were terrorism. And that derailment in Michigan today was just the rear cars of a freight that jumped the tracks. It happens nearly every day, its a big country. Think of how many auto accidents happen in your town, and then multiply that by the vast US. These train wrecks are just getting a lot more attention then normal, (although the Florida one and the California one today are unusual and pretty bad).

You're a real survivor. At least you didn't get shot in the arse.

I'm starting to think terrorism.Yes, I'm thinking along those lines too now. This is just too many train wrecks in a week.

The train wreck here was a chemical train not a passenger train.
Train Derailment Downriver Causes Scare
Several Cars Carrying Acid

DETROIT-- A train derailment in Monroe forced evacuations and a road closure Tuesday afternoon, Local 4 has learned.
The incident happened around 3 p.m. near Dixie Highway and Harbor Avenue. The Canadian National train was heading through the area when it lost approximately seven cars. Several of the cars were carrying sulfuric acid, according to a representative from Canadian National.
Authorities said that none of the acid spilled, and the cause of the accident was not immediately available.
About 40 homes near the site were evacuated as a precaution, authorities said. The American Red Cross arranged temporary shelter for those families at a nearby hotel.
No injuries were reported.
Dixie Highway was closed near Elm Street as a result of the derailment.
Additional details were not immediately available.

There is at least one case of: Female - Fee'-Molly, from the tag on the girl, that I was able to verify.
When my friend told me about the girl I made her find class pictures from grade school.

American Red Cross arranged temporary shelter for those families at a nearby hotel. and Planned Parenthood was there to offer free abortion services.
That's sarcasm (maybe).

Toooooo vulnerable. Following that conversation the first train crashed, I never doubted it was terrorism. There are many who would exagerate such concerns merely to denigrate mass-transportation systems.
The truth is, it doesn't take much imagination to envision how simple acts of terrorism could be conducted against any mode of transportation, including our nation's highways.
