[history]
The National Youth and Student Peace Coalition is planning its April 20 march to oppose the Bush administration's war on terrorism and its effect on domestic and global issues. Protesters will rally at the Washington Monument grounds at 11 a.m. and expect speakers including Al Sharpton and Martin Luther King III. A march is planned after that.

Yep, communists aren't born--they're indoctrinated or brainwashed. I've met some college kids in D.C. whose minds were completely warped by their communist professors. It was really sad to see them that far gone.
Hope you can make it to D.C. on the 20th.

Mentions of FR for two straight days in the Washington Post? Good work guys. Good Luck.
District Prepares for Four-Day Demonstrations
"...As a counter-protest, the national conservative group Free Republic is organizing the "Patriots Rally for America" on April 20. The gathering on the Washington Monument grounds seeks to counter "the usual collection of America-hating communist/leftist/anarchist groups," said a statement from the group."

I'm so impressed with DC Freepers. You've got a tough neighborhood to work in - and do us all proud. Way too comfortable here on the left coast.

Our rally will be easy to spot: it'll be the one where the American flags aren't on fire.LOL!
And again, be careful.

"I'm no fan of the IMF/World bank and the WTO, but I'm not standing with commies/leftists and anarchists. I have different reasons for not liking those organizations and don't need to hold their hands to show my disdain." Big scorecards. Grade them.

Kristinn and I had a long talk about this - if anything the number has been downplayed - trust us on this one - we will have numbers. That said, the most important thing is that we demonstrate our resolve in support of our country's war on terrorism and for her servicemen and women in harm's way. This is but one battle in a long war - it adds up - see
what FReepers have done to date - it really does make a difference.

We'll be fine. Our rally will have a permit and the U.S. Park Police will be there in case of trouble.

It doesn't even take 20 FReepers to change the public opinion, if they are effective (and the DC FReepers are very effective.) Of course the more the better, but don't let a low turnout dissuade you from speaking out for what is right and against what is wrong.
The advantage that FReepers have over the leftists is that we do our homework, communicate nationwide, mobilize protests just about anywhere on short notice, use humor and civil discorse to win over the public, including effectively using the media to carry our message.
Of couse we can do better on improving each area and at integrating it all into an efficient and potent political weapon. But part of the appeal of FReeping is that we insist on having a good time and don't have aspirations of political grandeur.
Another grassroots group employing similar techniques check out Strategic Taskforce to Organize and Mobilize People (STOMP) started by House Majority Whip Tom "the Hammer" Delay.

Hey, CJ!
I'm still curious about which candidate in the two-way race for Missouri State Representatitive (71st district) you would recommend that people vote for: the pro-life Libertarian, or the incumbent Democrat.
Thanks, Jihad, and have a spectacular day.

The Missouri race has nothing to do with this thread. Please don't turn it into a food fight over Libertarians. Thanks.

[Also, anarchists aren't leftists; they're extreme rightists.]i prefer libertarian socialists -- self-management, including in terms of economics [workers running workplaces democratically etc..] is what they believe in.

Have the national Democratic-Socialists said why they chose to gather on Hitler's birthday?
