School Invites Planned Parenthood Without Parental Notice
Arcata, CA - As a freshman at Arcata High School, taking Health class is a requirement as part of the curriculum. Recently, as part of the course outline, school administrators invited guest speakers from Planned Parenthood to address the class of freshmen. The topic to be covered by Planned Parenthood was sexual education, but more specifically "homophobia" and homosexuality.
The school administrators who invited Planned Parenthood to the class, failed to give prior notice to the parents, nor did the school obtain parental written consent for this presentation.
As part of an icebreaker, Planned Parenthood asked the class to stand in a circle. Questions were then asked of the class regarding "homophobia" and homosexuality. Whenever a question was asked that applied to the students, the students were asked by Planned Parenthood to step into the middle of the circle, facing their peers. One question was "Does your religion believe against or think homosexuality is a sin or something wrong?"
Feeling humiliated and singled-out, only a few students stepped forward. "This made me feel very uncomfortable," claimed one of the freshmen students. "I felt like I was being judged as a bad person ... my classmates stared at me like I had done something wrong."
"This line of questioning equates to religious-based harassment and violated both state and federal law when it was performed without prior written parental consent," said Brad Dacus, President of the Pacific Justice Institute. "On behalf of the student, the Pacific Justice Institute has agreed to offer any legal assistance and represent parents throughout the administrative complaint process."

No surprise here..Many of the posters here are the ages of my kids..I remember when my 16 year old ( now adult) son had condoms in his dresser..I asked where they came from..seems Planned Parenthood had been in to visit..and given them all a present:>))
Now you know I called the school and their response was the teacher had left the room (how convenient) and did not know they had done that (liar liar pants on fire:>))
Well today condoms are all over the schools and abortion accepted as "family planning" so the next moral barrier is sodomy..natural for an organization that has a planned agenda to decrease live births to promote ...can you think of a better way to reduce the population? I would guess sex with animals is next
BTW I would get a Christian lawyer to file a separation of church and state suite here...they had no right to ask that..(Play by their rules..)
1. Planned Parenthood is always right.2. Planned Parenthood has every right to "teach" (indoctrinate) our youth according to their belief system.
3. Planned Parenthood (an organization dedicated to reproductive issues) is exceedingly knowledgeable in all areas of sexuality, even those that don't have anything to do with reproduction.
Lighten up Saundra, jeesh.

My kids go to private school and I thank God every day that we can scrape enough money together every month to keep them there. But that doesn't mean that what happens in the public schools don't impact us.
We have to care, we have to fight, we have to actively oppose the bad things and help support the good things. We can't sit back and do nothing because it's not "our problem". It is our problem.
Sorry for the venom, but I feel so passionately about this issue and have been trying to get people here on FR to stop the fatalist attitude about public schools. Nothing is impossible if we work together to defeat the liberal agenda on our TAXPAYER FUNDED public school campuses.
Just last week at lunch time a friend of mine drove past a high school and across the street was a Planned Parenthood van with a woman outside distributing literature, among other things. (Condoms? Abortion referrals?)
You KNOW that if a pro-life van was parked outside of a high school handing out literature about STDs, chastity, "True Love Waits" and pro-life counseling, they would be closed down and arrested.
But I think that we should try that. Everywhere PP is, Lifers need to be.
Not so fast. California happens to be home to the Separation of School and State Alliance, which holds the key to restoring freedom of education in America. (Home to Homer, too, incidently.)
Actually, PPUSA (Planned Parenthood USA) is part of the IPPF (International Planned Parenthood Federation).
No matter where you are, they're coming after your children.
Shalom.
Were the hell is the ACLU? Oh yea, Bashing Christians is not "wrong", it is diversity.
In the future, I expect to be notified, if Planned Parenthood or any of its volunteers participate in on-campus discussions. Planned Parenthood has a political agenda and a level of protected free speech that disallows parent participation-- a minor can obtain confidential services without knowledge of the parent. That undermines parental authority, and leaves the child vulnerable to unsafe practices. Planned Parenthood refuses to acknowledge a possible link between abortion and breast cancer, and unfortunately the jury is still out on the information, but PPs protected free speech allows them to continue possible harm children who cannot be informed, and probably aren't even interested-- yet.
I thank God for you! You are truly blessed.
I try but it's soooooo dang hard.
