This topic was debated on Special Report with Brit Hume tonight on Fox News. The panel agreed unanimously that if Israel pulls out and meets with Powell and agrees to abide by the U.S. plan, and the suicide bombings start again all of it is off the table until Arafat is gone for good.

When asked how many suicide bombings it would take to cause this action they agreed again that the magic number was one. One suicide bombing after the Israeli troops pulled out and Israel was going to get the go ahead to either arrest or expell Arafat.

I voted for Bush and have had great admiration for him as President,Commander-In-Chief and as a man.

I have also sent two e-mails to the White House on this issue over the last two weeks indicating I hadn't voted for Bush so that a Clinton-Gore Mid East policy would be perpetuated.

I wonder what we would all be saying if the various public statements and UN votes, even resolution sponserships of the last couple weeks had been coming from Clinton.

Would we be prasing his parsiful laguage and pointing out how crafty he was being?

I doubt it.

I'm surprised the UN hasn't asked us to give Bin Laden another chance at peace.

That is what I would hope and expect -- that if the escalation of violence continues so will the the consequences, not letting the same things repeat over and over. It is simple enough to say that while the Israeli's have been conducting their crackdown, the bombings have subsided, but they cannot stay forever. There has to be some compassion and fairness to the innocent civilians on both sides.

UN - including US - votes for Israel to back off
GERALD NADLER
Associated Press Writer

UNITED NATIONS - The United States joined other U.N. Security Council members Saturday in adopting a resolution that calls on Israel to withdraw its troops from Palestinian cities, including Ramallah, where Yasser Arafat's headquarters is under siege.

The 14-0 vote, at 4:30 a.m. EST, capped a marathon emergency session called at the request of the Palestinians. It came a day after Israel declared the Palestinian leader an enemy and, vowing to isolate him, launched an extensive military campaign in response to a series of attacks on Israeli civilians.

It was the second time in a month that the United States, Israel's closest ally, approved a Mideast resolution, after years of abstaining and vetoing Council measures critical of Israel. On March 13, the United States voted with the council to approve a resolution calling for a Palestinian state.

You forgot more money for education for his old buddy teddy, and his supposed tax cut back loaded for 10 years, and his kowtowing to the chinese.

We have definitely got bush II, read my lips.

Next thing we will hear is that the war on terrorism is over and OSL will not be charged or hunted cause he really is from the religion of peace.

The resolution demands implementation "without delay" of the council's resolution 1402, adopted last Saturday. It called for a "meaningful cease-fire" and Israeli troop withdrawal from Palestinian cities, including Ramallah where Palestinian President Yasser Arafat is surrounded by Israeli tanks and troops.

Last Saturday. Then what happened? Israel went to war. And the US said it was justified. These resolutions are getting comical. Kind of like New Year's resolutions. :)

The Israelis have hired Clinton on as a special consultant, to interpret what "without delay" means. LOL!

Actually, there is a big difference between how Clinton handled this and how Bush is handling this.

Arafat visited the White House 17 times during Clinton's presidency. More times than any other Head of State. How many times has Bush invited him to the White House? I haven't seen any pictures of Laura kissing Arafat's wife. Bush has clearly shown Israel, and those of us in the US that aren't blind, that he has given 100% of his support to Israel and 0% to Arafat. Until Bush meets with him personally, Arafat is illigitimate as a leader.

It was just announced on Fox News that Al Queda fugatives were in the west bank

Israel trying to steam us up? Possible, but Al Qaeda never attacked Israel, despite its pandering to Arab sympathies. More concerned with Kashmir and messing up those central asian oil fields at the behest of their Saudi funders.

I repeat. And then Israel went to war and the US supported it. What do you think of that? :)

No but in 48 67 and 73 they have been invaded and nearly wiped out.

Of course, if we had not yanked their chain in 73, eygpt and syria would still be conquered countries.

Do you suppose thats why the big dogs of the ME don't attack Israel any more and let little kids go out and blow themseleves up.

I forgot Islam is a religion of peace, and Allah wills the Israelis to protect themselves.

Why doesn't the UN do something useful for a change, like vote that China withdraw from Tibet immediately?

Exactly! There have been stories in the past couple of days about Arab Israeli's that lived and worked in Harat (sp?). Worked and lived, side by side, peacefully with the Israeli Jews. No problems, no terror. That's a big reason why the bombing there was such a catalyst. That particular city had always been considered by both sides to be a peaceful zone if you will. The murderers not only killed innocent Israeli's, but they crossed the line and killed some of their own.

To hear even Mara and Mort agree with Jeff Birnbaum, Fred Barnes and Brit, I tend to believe them.

Yeah.. well you got an agenda too and ever body knows it. All you ever do is try to scrape Bush's toe out of the crack. Always questioning anybody what dares hold something Bush does in question.

Well I aint never voted no way BUT Republican since Goldwater (ceptin I did vote for Wallace)-- but I'll be durned if I'm about to go lickin any man's feet to stay with the "party".. no sirree.

An I'll tell you somethin else too.. the day an the hour Bush turns his back on Isreal is the exact time I tell him and whatever bunch he's the head of to jump in a deep hole.

I aint sayin thats what hes doin, but Ive got my eye on him like a buzzard watchin a fresh runned-over dog.
