Are you kidding? You are so naive as to not recognize why the U.S. sponsored it?
To: jerrymdss
well da!!of course the UN is going to vote to support Powells mission. What do you expect, them to vote for him to stay in Washington or the US will face economic sanctions?
To: newsperson999
why would the US not only vote for the UN measure but sponser the thing?I know this has become politically incorrect to say on this forum but could the reason be doing so is in America's best interest?
To: newsperson999
Yea, I keep losing respect for him also. That RINO horn seems to keep getting bigger every day.

We've already established that you are being deliberately obtuse to further your agenda; if you did listen to the news, you'd know it wasn't playing the way you had hoped. The press, to a person, is saying that Bush laid the onus of this sqaurely on Bush.
And read the article I posted to get the FACTS about why we did what we did.

The United States objected to the word "immediate" because it has been pressing for a cease-fire to come ahead of an Israeli troop withdrawal, a position supported by Israel...I don't notice any of these UN resolutions being implemented. Going back years. I guess they are like diets. People are determined to go on them, but they rarely keep them.

It may be...but all the bush supporters last weekend were so proud that Bush more less gave Israel the green light and wanted Israel to kick some butt even with the reports that the operation may take 4-6 more weeks, now he changes his mind out of the blue and none of his supporters(or very few of them) have the guts to crtitize him
To: Howlin
and what exactly is my agenda Howlin? I just point out the fact that some people think Bush can do no worng just because he is a Republican,,I likeed the man and still do...but Bush is a hypocrite on this issue
To: newsperson999
"well da!!of course the UN is going to vote to support Powells mission."
I did not say anything about UN and Powell's mission. What I said was that the UN vote is not unexpected given that both sides are part of the problem and that Israel has had time to disarm the Palis and arrest the terrorists. They cannot stay forever, they will have to pull-back. What Israel needs to do is to openly state to the world their right to continue to defend and what their future action will be once the suicide bombers return (like next week).
To: newsperson999
How do you interpret "without delay". Sharon will interpret it as "when I get damn good and ready". That is a minor slap.
I sugest that you re-read GWB's speech today VERY CAREFULLY. He clearly drew a line in the sand for Arafat today. He accused him of incompetance and of failing his people and made it perfectly clear that this is last chance.
GWB in no way sold out Israel today. Stop your whinning.

The problem with CNN is that they only report half of the story, the pro-Palistinian, anti-Bush/Israel half. The part that they, (or you), didn't bother to post is:
"The resolution calls on "both parties to move immediately to a meaningful cease-fire..." They also didn't bother to report that Bush won on the language of when the pull-out had to take place. Bush wanted the language, "without delay", while the Arab nations wanted, "immediate". "Without delay" gives Sharon time to finish what he's doing before Powell gets there and our President knows it.
Did CNN bother to report that Israeli intelligence has just now informed Washington that there are 30 Al Qaida members holed up in the West Bank planning attacks on the Israeli Military?
Any bets that Powell won't set foot in Israel until they are rounded up?

Oh the U.N.? The same guys who kicked out the U.S. from their Human Rights Commission and let the terrorist dictator from Libya Qaddafi on, as well as his Terrorist-supporting slaver pals from Sudan? YOU are the clueless one. It's an honor to be denounced by the United Nazis. Funny that the UN thinks it's racist for Jews to want their own nation, but for Arabs to want an all muslim all arab middle-east it's NOT racist somehow...F*** the UN! They screwed it all up the first time around anyways...
To: jerrymdss
The terrorists must be stopped and Israel has the right to defend itself, but once the violence is contained, the ball will be in Israel's count to negotiate and then pull out of the occupied territories. If the terrorism doesn't stop, then to hell with the Palis
So how long do they have to wait? The terror has been going on for a long time, should they wait another couple of years to see if the Palis calm down? Note that the terror bombings have stopped in the last couple of days since the tanks rolled.
Maybe if the Israelis are allowed to go after terrorists, instead of turning the other cheek, there can be some semblance of peace.
To: terilyn; Jolly Green
Thank you both for the clarifications.
To: Stirner
Oh yes, how ingenious! What a delight!
Give Arafart another chance. Another chance to blow up more civilians. Once the Israelis have pulled back, Israelis will again hope for peace. The political momentum for doing what needs be done will be gone, again. Predict many more years of suicide bombings as a result.
I don't think the Israelis will be doing any pulling out until they've done some major damage to the Arafart's terrorist network.
To: Frances_Marion
Oh, heheheh, I misunderstood, sorry. Time to take Reading Comprehension classes....So we voted against Israel? Yeah, that's hyprocritical....we suffer a few instances of terrorism, and we come out swinging, Israel deals with it everyday, and then we want to tie their arms behind their backs? yeah, that's the definition of hyprocritical. We' re selling out the Israelis...
To: bert
Apparently it's okay for Al Qaeda to be in the West Bank. We just don't want them anywhere else. What a great war on terror we're waging.

All I have to ask is, "What the hell?" Check Drudge - the London press is blasting him for being a hypocrite. They're normally off base...they've got this one right on. There is no way to talk out of this situation. Has there been a suicide bombing since Monday? NO. Why? The Israelis are disrupting the terror network. Let them keep doing it!!!!!
