The latest revision is great.
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my ping list!. . .don't be shy.
In all honesty, I don't like change but the intelligent side of my brain keeps telling me that Jim & John are magicians and "will" pull a rabbit outta their hat if we just let em work. My 56K dial up did not like all the graphics but that was my onus not theirs.
I'm just gonna set back, watch , wait and enjoy what they provide for free and send em some duckets next month for their efforts................
Stay Safe !
Thanks, RonDog, for the heads up.Thanks for the PING!
Your note on post on #76 is very informative regarding the Easter changes here on the FR software/format.......
For the record, though, while the "heads up" was from me, the "informative" part about Plan B was from Jim!MY idea would have been to implement Plan NINE...
.......the "informative" part about Plan B was from Jim!Oh, yeah! Of course....I knew that. And all the FReepers I pinged will know that too!..........
Plan NINE...LOL!
RonDog, thx for the ping.
The clean, spartan look or uncluttered look is great.
However, I will be removing my state marker until the old announcement head lines disappear. That is a big distraction and a waste of screen area.
Keep up the good work.
So if the old announcements are bugging you on your personal comments (to you and from you page), just remove the state from your personal page.
Well I sent the FReeper a courtesy note that the FReepmail was blank and he relayed that I ought to check out website http://www.conservababes.com/ just for grins. Well I did, and when I hit the site it began to play the old song Paint it Black.
So I sent him a note telling him thanks and commented about the song Paint it Black and asked him what would be a good song for me to suggest to Jim Robinson for a theme to play when someone hit the FreeRepublic.com site. His comeback reply?:
The theme song from Gilligan's Island. "Reason being that they only went out for a 3 hour tour and got stuck forever......"
ROFL ! !
How about it, Jim???? :O)
well, maybe not Gilligan's Island, but something cool??
Gilligan's Island Theme Song
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
a tale of a fateful trip.
That started from this tropic port,
aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailin' man,
the skipper brave and sure.
Five passengers set sail that day,
for a three hour tour, a three hour tour
The weather started getting rough,
the tiny ship was tossed.
If not for the courage of the fearless crew,
the Minnow would be lost; the Minnow would be lost.
The ship took ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle,
with Gilligan, the Skipper too,
the Millionaire, and his Wife,
the Movie Star, the Professor and Mary Ann,
here on Gilligan's Isle.
And after our 30 minutes of fun with the Castaways was done, we would hear .
So this is the tale of our castaways,
they're here for a long, long time.
They'll have to make the best of things,
it's an uphill climb.
The first mate and his skipper too,
will do their very best,
to make the others comfortable,
in the tropic island nest.
No phones, no lights, no motor cars,
not a single luxury.
Like Robinson Crusoe,
it's primitive as can be.
So join us here each week my friend,
you're sure to get a smile.
From seven stranded Castaways,
Here on Gilligan's Isle.
The Forum's response time has been reduced with thisMy comment for humor purposes, that being said......
version of the forum software. I'd like to know why?
That being said, I must now offer up my own personal glass of whine. The blue font of the thread links is killing my eyes. Why are my browser color preferences for visited and unvisited links being ignored? The browser preferences allow users, who like myself have trouble with certain colors, to set a preferred font color and maintain consistent colors across web sites. It would sure be nice if the visited/unvisited link colors for FR were the same as my browser preferences.
Thanks again, things are definitely gettin better...
I'm with you, but it's about %1000 better than it was Saturday morning.
