I think you are confused. The Liberal response is not to respond to arguments that have been raised, but instead to call people names.

You are probably not aware of it, but a number of the justices on the Supreme Court are getting on in age, so it is perfectly possible that one of the conservative justices, like O'Connor, or the Chief Judge, Rehnquist, could die in the next couple of years.

With respect to the legal points I raised, do you have any legal training such that you can say with authority that you know exactly how all 9 justices are going to vote on CFR? How do you know what O'Connor and Kennedy are going to do? Plus, what happens if Kennedy and O'Connor decide to duck this issue and they vote not to accept certiorari?

Why don't you address my points, instead of calling me a liberal?

". After he signs, it will go to the Supreme Court and it will be struck down on a 5-4 vote. So there you have it folks, Bush will sign CFR and I don't blame him, most people want him to, it won't pass the SCOTUS and there will be no way people can blame Bush for it.

In the latest Limbaugh Letter, there is a terrific interview with Charles Krauthammer (sp) who says this same thing. Krauthammer explained it quite well, and convinced me.

So my question to those that say that Bush is finished if he sings CFR, who's starting the "Republicans for Hillary" website? LOL

"This genius lost all creditability with that statement"

Since it was a Marxist/leftist that wrote the article, I wouldn't exactly call him a "genius", in the first place. :D

Why would I vote for Bush if he was going to sign liberal legislation? He's supposed to be a conservative - he should act like one

Did Bush 1 lose his reelection bid because he raised taxes or because he was running against a slick hustler who could win over the ladies?

The point is that the GOP voter has no choice but to vote republican, and signing this bill isn't going to change that.

As you remember the last election was close, and Bush needs to shut up the Rats and the RINOS by taking away their issues.

I don't see this as a problem one way or the other. Bush could veto it and that would be great, but I'd rather see him sign it so I don't have to listen to that Psycho McCain and his rat minions in 2002.

The fact is that no matter which way he goes THIS LAW WILL NEVER BE IMPLEMENTED.

It would not be the first time a GOP President signed something blatantly unconstitutional into law for the good of the party and the good of the USA.

Reality sucks.

If we enact ALL their policies, they won't have ANY issues, but there would be no reason to vote Republican.

I think what Bush is going to do is sign the bill as it and let the Supremes take it down. This way the RATS can't use it against him in 2002 and he can get McPain off his back. Bush is a smart guy. He knows that the bill won't stand up against the Constitution. It's all part of the strategery!

Total BS.

Between this, the incumbent protection act, The USA patriot act and amnesty for illegals, bush has shown his true colors.

I regret working to get him elected, I regret voting for bush and I regret being my GOP precint capt.

Never again.

You know, in a way, I wish that gwhore were president. That way I wouldn't feel so betrayed. Bush will go down in the Hall of Shame as the president who signed probably the most blatantly unconstitutional law in history.

The day he signs this, or allows it to become law, is the day he completely loses my support and I start to agree with the dems and doubt his intelligence.

Bush the Younger, another "one and done" president.

if it's signed and scotus knocks it down, they will be called the bush court once again...
and if by some chance, scotus finds justification for this abortion of a law
somewhere in the penumbras, there are going to be a whole bunch of
puckered backsides around here... with the second coming of roe (just with a different topic).

don't count your sheep just yet... now then, does the constitution rotate clockwise in the
northern hemisphere as it swirls down the toilet?

If Bush signs this Un-Constitutional garbage, I won't JUST not be supporting him.

I will be one of the voices calling for his impeachment.

I share everyone's desire that Bush should veto this bill. But we have to look at the long term prospects. This is just one more issue that the Rats DO NOT have to run on. One by one, Bush is depleting their issues. Pretty soon they will have to run on school lunches again. Remember, we have to have Republicans in office if there is any hope. Even if we have to give a little.

If the Republicans are going to "deplete their issues" by just passing the legislation that the Democrats want, we just as well have elected the Democrats in the first place. What the heck is advantage of having an R in office that acts like a D?

Naw. The shameless Bush apologists will explain it away as fantastic political strategy. Heck, they've already started supporting the damned legislation and he hasn't even signed it yet.
