Two wrongs don't make a right. Clinton pulled this same stunt.

"The "networks" are reporting that Bush WILL sign this unconstitutional bill into law." I called my Congressman today and voiced my deep concerns when I heard that our President is going to sign CFR. My Congressman voted against CFR, thankfully, but his assistant agreed with the media propaganda that President Bush will sign it even if it means that he is going against all that he originally expected from campaign finance reform.
I hope the President will not and that he will rope the dope media.

If strategery means urinating on the Constitution of the United States of America, then I want no part of it & will not support anyone who does.

Rush is talking about something other than his golf handicap or his damn cat? He's switched back to politics?
To: TLBSHOW
Is Rush finally waking up to the fact that Bush is NO conservative?? Is Bush doing ANYTHING about the last 8 years of corruption lies and treason by Clinton???
To: paul544
I understand your post but one by one the democrats won't have any issues left because the republicans will officially become the democrat party. Nothing like a one-party political system no better than Mugabe in Zimbabwe.

All is fair in love and war...and this is WAR! The Democraps have been urinating on the constitution for years and they will keep doing it unless Bush can beat them at their own game. We have a system of checks and balances and Bush knows that the Judicial Branch won't stand for this one. Scalia and Thomas are ready with their pens as we speak.

For Immediate Release
Office of the Press Secretary
March 20, 2002
Statement by the President
Like many Republicans and Democrats in the Congress, I support common-sense reforms to end abuses in our campaign finance system. The reforms passed today, while flawed in some areas, still improve the current system overall, and I will sign them into law.
The legislation makes some important progress on the timeliness of disclosure, individual contribution limits, and banning soft money from corporations and labor unions, but it does present some legitimate constitutional questions. I continue to believe the best reform is full and timely disclosure of campaign contributions.

I am againt CFR but I think it's ridiculous that Freepers are making this issue as big as Abortion or the Death Penalty. Bush is in politics and therefore to win he will do what most people want him to do: sign it. After he signs, it will go to the Supreme Court and it will be struck down on a 5-4 vote. So there you have it folks, Bush will sign CFR and I don't blame him, most people want him to, it won't pass the SCOTUS and there will be no way people can blame Bush for it. So how many people here are voting for Hillary if Bush signs CFR?

We can only hope that you having a premonition of the future.

I still support GWB, but why he doesn`t veto this turkey is hard to figure. The rats and McCain were sickening today and the twin towers of intelect from Maine defy description.

Dont be a smart ass, although it fits you well.
The point is that morons like you, who voted for KKKlinton and helped elect all the Democrats who have steadily won seats back since '94 are the real problem. You really do make this party look like a bunch of extreme wackos. Just super.

How do you know that CFR'sd limits on the 1st amendment are going to be overturned by the Supreme Court? No one can say with any certainty what is going to happen with CFR if it gets before the Supreme Court. We don't know with any certainty how Kennedy or O'Connor might vote. Plus, what happens if one of the conservatives on the Court dies between now and when CFR's issues are heard by the Court. What if the Court is split 4-4. Plus, all of this assumes that the Supreme Court will even accept certiorari on this issue. The Court may end up ducking the issue just like Bush did.

I think this will get challenged in court on a free speech platform. People give dollars to have their views voiced and spoken by the candidate to whom they gave the dollars. It will not pass the scrutiny of the courts.
To: vbmoneyspender
LOL, that is such a Liberal response!, Remember that the Liberals ALWAYS use the most extremes circumstances to make their points.
For Example: National Health Care: What happens if a single mother of 7 children with a part-time job breaks her leg while jogging with her 12 year old daughter and as she takes a tumble to the floor her daughter gets hit by a tree which pops an eye out and leaves her deaf and she doesn't have health care. what will happen...ect....lol

Some doctrinaire conservatives are growing a bit cranky over the ideological impurities of George W. Bush. California Republicans rebelled when he promoted the candidacy of Richard Riordan -- Horrors! An electable moderate! -- for governor.
MODERATE my ass
This genius lost all creditability with that statement

I agree with both of your sentiments. Bush still has my support and I believe that Bush just called the Democrats bluff. The last thing they wanted was CFR. If Bush signs, it moots Enron as a campaign issue, it moots CFR as a campaign issue, it silences 'one issue man' McCain(hopefully). If the bill truly infringes free speech,it will be overturned. The goal at the end of the day, is to get conservative judges on the bench and increase the Republican majority in the house and hopefully retake the Senate. I am putting my trust in Bush and I have the firm belief, that when all the dust settles, this will not be as dark a day ,as many fear it is.

Think "Global Government" and then GW makes sense in all that he does.
