ALERT
Statement by the President

Like many Republicans and Democrats in the Congress, I support common-sense reforms to end abuses in our campaign finance system. The reforms passed today, while flawed in some areas, still improve the current system overall, and I will sign them into law.

"Flawed in some areas", how about unconstitutional. I am disappointed in reading this statement by President Bush, even though I suspected that this would be the outcome.

Oh, for crying out loud!

This is terrible. The bill is unconstitutional and what guarantee is there that the Supreme Court would reject it?

Very sad.

It seems there is no limit to the extent that modern politicians will go to in order to get positive press coverage from the leftist media. There is no greater sign of their power over society than that all politicians -- even those to whom that press is an enemy -- must kowtow to their power.

Yes, it's a stain on Bush, but it says even more about the degradation of our system of government as a whole.

Those little tinpot potentates in congress and the senate ( deliberate no-caps ) may think they have pulled a fast one on a sleeping citizenry. Maybe they are right, but I'm going to try to prove them wrong.

Thanks for the ping...

I promised I would not vote for him again if this passed.... Unless something happens to change my stance; I will hold to that promise.

I will not be silenced by the federal government. I hope I can get involved in that lawsuit being brought by ??Senator McConnell????? (I heard it on the news an am not sure which one it was). I will also be working with others (to form a group) to run a TV ad 1 MONTH before an election and mention a candidate (a couple of times). What are they going to do?
