His veto could be easily sustained in either chamber. Only takes 34 in the Senate to sustain the veto.

"Hopefully Bush will veto this travesty."
Naah- In a short time the bombs will be falling in Iraq and FR will back in War support mode. Anyone who even poo-poo's Bush will be banned and called a traitor. That error has already been made. And it was the moment that FR lost its power. It will happen again-just watch.

A few groups come to mind as shouting for joy over this, and they are National Education Assoc. and AARP.

Is the "secret plan" to potentially line-item veto part of the bill? I thought the test case would be an appropriations bill, not some other type of legislation.

Please check my other posts please. What part is so single issue about not fighting for judicial nominations, signing 1st Amendment threatening CFR, and threatening national security by giving blanket amnesty? I will also add that his education bill was all Kennedy pork and there have been no government reforms as the INS just gave Mohammed Atta and his buddy visas?
Bad policy. If you look at the facts, he has had a terrible time at domestic policy. So what did I lose? All of this crap would have happened if a democrat was in office.
And BTW, I have impeccable Bushy credentials here. Just ask anyone on FR.

When he realizes how many people out here feel that it should be vetoed, it make the difference between him signing or vetoing the legislation. Please visit the FR thread linked below, and participate. It will only take a few minutes. We'd appreciate your help..
Thank you.

This makes me sick to my stomach--I literally feel ill. I'm so tired of these ball-less socialist b@stards in congress.
Sorry, I don't feel like being much of a lady right now.

re: "Read my lips......."
Is, in these parts at least, the equivalent of (from http://www.freerepublic.com/, lines 3 and 4):
"Not over my dead body will they curtail your free speech!"
-- President George "Dubya" Bush (what he should say re: CFR)
Have faith FReepers that the President will find this bill not living up to the standards he set in the beginning.
Continue phoning the WH your support of Free Speech.
Call President Bush today!
Tell him to veto campaign finance reform and protect your first amendment rights!White House Switchboard: 202-456-1414
White House Fax: 202-456-2461
EMAIL: president@whitehouse.gov Go FReepers!!

Bush is just taking another issue away from the RATS. Come 2004, the RATS will have nothing to campaign on cause Bush will have supported thier entire adgenda.

I agree except I think they are sneaky enough to do it quietly. They won so they don't need fanfare. They'll save it for their next crusade.

That's it! We should march on Washington and burn a bunch of flags. Hold up signs that read "At least some freedoms remain."

It will not affect John or Mary Sheeple's opinion, but it will affect his base. All of this happened because Klinton/Algore broke tons of campaign laws and instead of prosecuting under existing laws, they just signed a law breaking the first amendment and punishing Republicans. Thats so effin stupid.
Reforms might be needed, but this form of CFR is an abortion.

I dont even want to think what would have happened if GoRe was in power... Camels or people living in tents would not be safe on any corner of the globe
And the domestic policies whining is just that, damn , some of you folks act like buSH is not a respectable human being and doesn't care about the general welfare of this nation and its citizens ( notice I leave out any mention about illegal aliens)
He IS stuck with 8 years of ClinTon playing president and has to prioritize his efforts
If some things dont go the way ya want them to go, well, pack yur crap and move to China.. but take yur sand goggles

I know what you mean. Fitzgerald's really turning out to be a disappointment. He's also against drilling in the Artic Refuge. I'll remember in 2004.
