Has the world been discovered to be flat again as well?

Has it been conclusively proven to be round (I'm just NOT going to accept some obviously 'hoaxed' pictures from space)?

This NEEDS to be investigated - any maps I've seen have been FLAT with America in the CENTER ...

1. The unsubstantiation of a Darwinian mechanism of evolution

Uhhhh .. can you explain how 'selective breeding' works then?

Oh - it doesn't?

That's funny - and I thought that it had been used for years on everything from food to fauna ...

Another thing - why is there a prohibition on people marrying their close family members - is there some 'genetic thing' that results in - omigod - the possible crreation of a 'weak' genetic being (wherein normally recessive undesireable genetic characteristics may appear)?

Does evolution have problems as a theory? Of course. Many scientific theories have problems. Scientists still have problems with things like the theory of gravity

But I have yet to meet the creationist that can "prove" that the world was created in 6/7 days, that the Earth is only about 6,000 years old, that everyone descended from some "Adam & Eve" in a Garden of Eden, etc, etc

The main problem with most creationists is that they scream that evolution is unworkable and so biblicial creationism MUST be the logical alternative. I, for one, don't buy it

An amazing collection of logical fallacies and circular reasoning masquerading as an argument.

I'll use this piece as an example in my next class on Logic as an exercise for dissection.

I have only one question about this or any thread on evolution: In the history of FreeRepublic, can anyone document a single time when a single Freeper has changed his mind about the origin of species as a result of any of the idiotic maunderings which appear here on both sides of this issue?

If not, I propose that evolution threads head toward extinction.

Can be boiled down to one. Why waste time discussing how life originated until first discussing how the universe originated? It's simple - if the universe didn't evolve, neither did life. So discard evolution and look for another reason.

A tiny bit of the famous "list-o-links" (so the creationists don't get to start each new thread from ground zero).

01: Site that debunks virtually all of creationism's fallacies. Excellent resource.
02: Creation "Science" Debunked.
03: Creationi sm and Pseudo Science. Familiar cartoon then lots of links.
04: The SKEPTIC annotated bibliography. Amazingly great meta-site!
05: The Evidence for Human Evolution. For the "no evidence" crowd.
06: Massive mega-site with thousands of links on evolution, creationism, young earth, etc..
07: Another amazing site full of links debunking creationism.
08: Creationism and Pseudo Science. Great cartoon!
09: Glenn R. Morton's site about creationism's fallacies. Another jennyp contribution.
11: Is Evolution Science?. Successful PREDICTIONS of evolution (Moonman62).
12: Five Major Misconceptions about Evolution. On point and well-written.
13: Frequently Asked But Never Answered Questions. A creationist nightmare!
14: DARWIN, FULL TEXT OF HIS WRITINGS. The original ee-voe-lou-shunist.

The foregoing was just a tiny sample. So that everyone will have access to the accumulated "Creationism vs. Evolution" threads which have previously appeared on FreeRepublic, plus links to hundreds of sites with a vast amount of information on this topic, here's Junior's massive work, available for all to review:
The Ultimate Creation vs. Evolution Resource [ver 16].

What is Probe? Probe Ministries is a non-profit corporation whose mission is to reclaim the primacy of Christian thought and values in Western culture through media, education, and literature. In seeking to accomplish this mission, Probe provides perspective on the integration of the academic disciplines and historic Christianity.

In addition, Probe acts as a clearing house, communicating the results of its research to the church and society at large.

From their website. The mission is correct.

But its still bad science. Darwin was not a saint. His words carry no higher meaning. The site I work at has nearly 5,000 biologists and none of them reads Darwin.

If observation of God's creation and attempts to understand it are offensive to you, then don't do it. The rest of us will continue to provide you with science-derived technology anyway, as long as there is a pool of trained scientists to do the work. Everybody should home school.

For all of the supposed problems of evolution they pale in comparison to all of the violations of physical law as stated by Creationists.
