This is a simple question in which I want to gain insight. At least in terms of the opinions of the FreeRepublic population.
I'll tabulate the responses.
So what are you? Pro-Life or Pro-Abortion.

Pro-life.

Abortion is murder plain and simple. To hell with the"choice" argument, my household stands for life in all cases. Now going on 40-45 million? When will we stop the madness. Our pinko socialists we have in government condemning these babies will end up making Mao and Hitler and Stalin look like choir boys. How long will the Lord continue tohave mercy on our country? Please Mr. president do what you can!

So what are you? Pro-Life or Pro-Abortion.I'll rephrase the question: Pro-Life or Pro-Death??
As for me and my house, WE choose Life!
To: FreedomFriend
Pro-life.
Has anyone noticed that the only people who are "pro-abortion" and "pro-choice" are those who have already been born?
I call them....hypocrites.
To: FreedomFriend
pro-life, obviously!
To: Boxsford
due to the Liberaltarian infestation, there certainly are some pro-death freepers....the real conservatives on here are almost 100% pro-life.
To: contessa machiaveli
You are a bitch....what right do you have to choose whether an "unviable" fetus has the chance to grow into one you claim is "viable"?
To: supercat
There is a certain irony to the fact that the Democrats are trying to destroy their future voting base while the Republicans are trying to preserve the Democrats' future voting base. I wish the Republicans who are accused of being pro-life for "political reasons" would point out that if they were only interested in politics the status quo on abortion would actually benefit them. You and Spookbrat make excellent points!
To: TWRepublican
Bush will not lift a finger to prevent even ONE abortion.
To: rwfromkansas
when i said viable it was in the context of living independent of the mother womb. BTW, i don't appreciate your namecalling or misrepresenting my views. look around, my beliefs are in the majority. hearts and minds must be changed, and that will never occur if you insist on demonizing people who disagree with you.
To: Partisan Hack
It would seem that not allowing abortions in military hospitals is stopping an abortion, does it not?
To: contessa machiaveli
look around, my beliefs are in the majority. Now, hold on there, Contessa. That's not entirely true. You said that you support legal abortion in the first trimester for any reason. Most folks don't, and never have. Abortion as birth control has never been palatable to most folks. I can engage in a poll referencing orgy, if you wish, but this has been a generally accepted fact.
hearts and minds must be changed...
Now you're talking, sister! But how do we change hearts and minds? Is it just going to happen? Perhaps. But it will take aeons. What we need is for government to use it's mighty power to aggressively discourage abortion. I would hope that sensible pro-choicers could agree with this. Despite my rabid pro-lifery, I do try to build bridges whenever possible. In fact, I've always believed that ideological rigidity often stands in the way of progress on important issues. The problem comes in when pro-choicers attempt to deny that abortion is morally wrong. They think, often times, that if they make this concession, they will compromise the integrity of their position. I do not believe this to be true. There are plenty of good practical reasons to keep abortion legal in early pregnancy. While I, myself, cannot accept those reasons as justification for a permanent legality, I can certainly understand how a basically decent person could come to such a conclusion.
However, I am sickened when I read the comments from some freepers, that abortion is a good way to exterminate, or limit, the populations of groups they consider to be undesirable. I cannot find a centimeter of common ground with them. They are not pro-choice, since the only choice they seem to support is abortion -- they are pro-abortion. I would hope this doesn't describe you.

Would anyone like to hazzard a guess as to what the abortion situation will be when our current president leaves office? Probably the exact same situation it was when Reagan and 1st Bush left office. Hmmmm...

I cannot understand how any person can think an unborn child is not a human being and entitled to life. The picture Drudge ran on his site of the unborn baby's arm reaching out of his mothers womb and clasping the finger of the surgeon performing a corrective operation inside the womb said it all.

The impoverished illegal immigrants are reproducing like rabbits, taxing our infrastucture to the breaking point. Yet they reproduce with abandon ... A radical pro-life advocacy is eventual suicide by proxy. This goes well beyond "pro-choice" to its inevitable conclusion. Since the people in your description want to have these children, you appear to be advocating the involuntary termination of their pregnancies. Moreover, you may want to be more careful in how you voice your reasoning for this view. By selectively picking out an exclusively minority based group as an example of the need for this policy, a racial motivation for your proposal can reasonably be inferred. It wouldn't be surprising, though, to find that that is in fact the real motivation. This level of race hating bigotry is still alive and well among many in the pro-death crowd. Most of them now are just to cowardly to say it publicly. It is easy to forget that the pro-abortion movement in this country was originally started by eugenicists.
P.S. A similar reasoning would still apply if you were only advocating murder of babies from economically poor families.
To: FreedomFriend
pro-life, anti-abortion. To save a mother's life is one thing, but that should have restrictions as to how far along you are allowed to actually have an abortion. I don't think you should be allowed to abort for health reasons at 30 weeks, instead that child should be delivered and cared for as a preemie.

100% pro-life. I believe when the LIFE of the mother is in imminent danger, the baby may be DELIVERED ALIVE. PERIOD.
Exactly, said better than I did Jo!

hearts and minds can be changed by educating both males and females on abstinence, birth control, pregnancy, the act of abortion....everything. i grew up in the permissive 60's which was entirely different than the 90's or 2000 and up. i wholeheartedly believe it is the choice of the woman. my daughter who is in her 20's has told me she couldn't have an abortion. she is brilliant, educated, and liberal but for her, abortion is wrong. educate don't mandate.
To: FreedomFriend
Pro-life - from the moment of conception.
The Abortion Holocaust has claimed 40+ million innocent souls.
God save the children.
