when i said viable it was in the context of living independent of the mother womb. BTW, i don't appreciate your namecalling or misrepresenting my views. look around, my beliefs are in the majority. hearts and minds must be changed, and that will never occur if you insist on demonizing people who disagree with you.

look around, my beliefs are in the majority.

Now, hold on there, Contessa. That's not entirely true. You said that you support legal abortion in the first trimester for any reason. Most folks don't, and never have. Abortion as birth control has never been palatable to most folks. I can engage in a poll referencing orgy, if you wish, but this has been a generally accepted fact.

hearts and minds must be changed...

Now you're talking, sister! But how do we change hearts and minds? Is it just going to happen? Perhaps. But it will take aeons. What we need is for government to use it's mighty power to aggressively discourage abortion. I would hope that sensible pro-choicers could agree with this. Despite my rabid pro-lifery, I do try to build bridges whenever possible. In fact, I've always believed that ideological rigidity often stands in the way of progress on important issues. The problem comes in when pro-choicers attempt to deny that abortion is morally wrong. They think, often times, that if they make this concession, they will compromise the integrity of their position. I do not believe this to be true. There are plenty of good practical reasons to keep abortion legal in early pregnancy. While I, myself, cannot accept those reasons as justification for a permanent legality, I can certainly understand how a basically decent person could come to such a conclusion.

However, I am sickened when I read the comments from some freepers, that abortion is a good way to exterminate, or limit, the populations of groups they consider to be undesirable. I cannot find a centimeter of common ground with them. They are not pro-choice, since the only choice they seem to support is abortion -- they are pro-abortion. I would hope this doesn't describe you.
