Thanks for your wishes for my daughter. I would like to add my new son-in-law who is also in the Navy. There were married a little over two weeks ago in San Diego. That was one of the reasons I haven't been posting as my youngest daughter and I stayed in San Diego after the wedding and went sightseeing in San Diego and in LA getting back to OK right before Christmas.
When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it sounded familiar -- had forgotten that it was written before the Afghan war began. Sure glad that someone found it, because it is as true today as when it was written.
Thanks to you both for your service to our Country.

**This is war. This is survival of our way of life. We must unite behind our Commander-in-chief and do all we possibly can to support him and our war efforts. We do not have a choice in this matter.**
BTTT! Agree with you all the way.
And thanks, John, for posting this again.

"Taliban Trap" A large group of Taliban soldiers are moving down a road when they hear a voice call from behind a sand-dune. "One American Marine is better than ten Taliban." The Taliban commander quickly sends 10 of his best soldiers over the dune where upon a gun-battle breaks out and continues for a few minutes, then silence.
The voice then calls out "One American Marine is better than one hundred Taliban." Furious, the Taliban commander sends his next best 100 troops over the dune and instantly a huge gunfight commences. After 10 minutes of battle, again silence.
The American voice calls out again, "One American Marine is better than one thousand Taliban." The enraged Taliban Commander musters one thousand fighters and sends them across the dune. Cannon, rocket and machine gun fire ring out as a huge battle is fought. Then silence. Eventually one wounded Taliban fighter crawls back over the dune and with his dying words tells his commander...
"Don't send any more men, it's a trap.
There are actually two of them.

Oh Yea, well I just saw the USS Bubba Clinton (a broke down barnacle barge) leave the beach here in Arizona. The thing was full of s***.Military disinformation must be more credible than that! Mahmoud's probably laughing his sociopathic @$$ off at that one!

Much better!
Anyone who has the bandwith, the inclination, and the savvy should look up the video "Dead Taliban" online.
Just someone who made a video of US military power and pictures of our enemies set to a song by Drowning Pool. (Let the bodies hit the floor)
I'm sure only a few FReepers would enjoy the music (loud crazy rock), but whoever made the video did a heck of a job matching the scenes to the song.

Sure those weren't B-69s? Or do those ones just launch from the Mustang Ranch in Nevada?

I pretty much agree with this provided it doesn't include news releases by the military or local news provided by sources close to military bases or by quasi military publications such as Stars and Stripes, Army Times, etc.
Their release of info is sometimes critical to their information warfare campaign. If they release it, they want us to discuss it.

When I originally wrote my comments it was because people were telling what was going on at their local military installations and/or information they had from friends or family about deployments not in the news.
Do not see anything wrong with reporting information that has been released by DoD or local bases -- that is information because of the release is already in the public domain.
Let me give an example. I live about 15 minutes from Tinker AFB where planes are overhauled but we also are home to AWACS and the Navy E-6's which is public information. If I come on here and post that there is excessive air traffic over my home by the AWACS taking off one after the other, then I am giving out information that has not been released. Now if the local Tinker AFB Information Officers release that AWACS reserves or active duty are being deployed then I would feel free to post that information.
Hope that clears up what started all of this back before we entered Afghanistan.
