There's differing levels of banned. Apparently SB was a "mild" form which allowed the posts to remain.
To: kayak
I only post what's being reported in the media. If I hear anything from a soldier I know, I normally discount as a half-truth at best and classified at worse. So, I just ignore what individual soldiers tell me during alerts and just go along with what the press and the Pentagon says.

Although I have seen local stories about National Guard activations, etc. I do not post them.
It seems to me that even if local papers carry the stories, we shouldn't consolidate the information in one place, making it easier for the enemy (or anti-war activists who are bent on trouble-making) to connect the dots.
Bumping this as a reminder to all.

You do realize that this is a old thread.

"opportunities to help our men and women in uniform"
Roger Hedgecock is already doing a great job helping the families of those in uniform. He has generated so much support, they had to hire someone to coordinate all the incoming stuff. People are simply driving up to the station with their SUV's crammed full of all kinds of things. One guy delivered dozens of computers - his goal was to get families linked up to their loved ones on the internet.
His website www.rogerhedgecock.com gives all the details.

JohnHuang2 would like this to be bumped as a reminder to protect our forces. My pleasure.

Oops, that explains it. I saw this at the top of Breaking News and thought it was new. There's something to be said for looking at the date of the post. Thanks.

or anti-war activists who are bent on trouble-making Where I live (a place overwhelmed by an ultra-majority of far, far, far leftists), we have near daily anti-war protests covered extensively (and aided and abetted) by our way far out leftist local newspaper.
Not that they need the encouragement of information (connecting dots has never been a concern of the religiously left), I think they are a much bigger problem (regarding sabotage or disruption) than the enemy will ever prove to be.
To: John H K
I have to agree with you. I think a lot of things leaked on purpose. The truth is that in a free and open society like ours you cannot mobilize tens of thousands of troops quietly.
To: trussell
Thanks for the ping, Trussell. It deserves a huge
BUMP!!!
To: NormsRevenge
Damn., I missed that one!
To: Victoria Delsoul
Nice bump there!

It seems to me that even if local papers carry the stories, we shouldn't consolidate the information in one place... This is my feeling, too. I'm very careful about revealing things I've learned about just from the press, and I also do not mention things I've heard from relatives in LE, etc. If I do, I try to keep it general and non-specific.
It's horrible to have to do this, but I think we've got to be careful.
