The crocodile was a silent stalker, as long as a school bus and weighing almost 18,000 pounds. It cruised the primordial rivers of what is now Saharan Africa, looking for unwary dinosaurs to eat.
"It was absolutely enormous, said a University of Chicago paleontologist, Paul Sereno, of the 8,165 kilogram creature. "There is nothing that would be able to handle that animal. It's like a torpedo of muscle five feet in diameter. (with body armour) The skull of the world's largest living crocdile looks like an hors d'oeuvre by comparison." In an age of giants 110 million years ago Sarcosuchus imperator was a top-of-the-food chain predator with four foot jaws that could gobble fish 12 feet (4 meters) long. The ancient crocodile was probably able to scoot ashore to bring down dinosaurs weighing tons.
Reporting on the website of the journal Science, the team of paleontologists led by Mr. Serno for the first time described the habits of this beast, whose remains were found in Central Africa's bone-dry Tenere desert in an area of Niger called Gadoufaoua-"the place where camels fear to tread in the Tuareg language.
Okay, now who posted that claim of 32,400 psi just when walking?... Lets correct this simple math error.
The beast weighs 18,000 lbs.
Let us give it four feet, and each foot is one square foot in size !
Y'all with me so far? This assumed feet size is much smaller than the other posters claim.
Now, PSI is pounds force per square inch. So we have to convert this foot size over to square inches. So multiply it by 12 twice.
So each foot is 144 square inches.
So the Pressure exerted if the beastie stood on one of these 144 in2 feet would be only 125 PSI. Thats 18,000 lbs / 144 in2.
And the beastie is normaly on two feet, so that would reduce its pressure to 62 PSI.
By way of comparison, a man weighing 200 lbs with a 12" by 4" wide foot. The area of the foot is 48 in2. So if he is standing on one foot, then he would be exerting 4.1 PSI.
Now, to exert the same force as a man on the ground, this beastie would have to have a foot that is 4,320 square inches. Basically, the foot would need to be five and a half feet by five and a half feet. (or 30 square feet)
Anti-tank weapons might do it. Even the mighty .50 BMG seems light for something like this.
Yep.........that's 'bout right. Yeeesh.................

Suddenly that monster came charging out of the water, rearing up on its hind legs, grabbed the head of an adult Wildebeast, and threw it over its head and into the swamp. Dangdest thing I ever saw. If a present day croc can take down a 300 - 400 pound animal with such ferocious power, that old timer must have been one he$ll of a hunter.
Probably could not take a T-Rex though.
BWS, Inc. has drawn upon the modern day, virtually untapped knowledge base of post cold war MicroNuclear physics and today's desire for a compact blast-packing cartridge . World renowned Ex-Soviet MicroNuclear physicist "Borris" has recently joined our engineering team to bring the world yet ANOTHER hi-tech BWS product. The perfect addition to your JADED.50 Rilfe kit ...It's the Nuke50 MicroNuclear .50 BMG Round! (with additional "Concealed Carry" Nuke50 Delivery System also available.
"Sure, it's all fun and games ...until someone loses a major metropolitan city."
What is the Delivery System?
It happens time and time again. You fire off a M1 incendiary, API round or even the much ballyhooed Raufoss .50 BMG round only to be left completely disappointed in the lack of true "Hollywood" blast effects. Many times you just get a poof of smoke ...or don't get anything at all! BWS, Inc has taken a dramatic leap forward in small arms ammunition technology with the advent of the world's first MicroNuclear .50 BMG projectile. Behold, the "Nuke50" MicroNuclear .50 BMG round!
Most of you have already heard all of the stories about how the U.S. military used depleted Uranium as the substrate material for the projectiles lobbed at the Iraqis during "Desert Storm". Now there are all of these quasi-radioactive chunks of metal messing up all of that pretty desert scenery ...not to mention the 500 year half-life that many generations must face. Birdman Weapons Systems, Inc. realized the potential of these heavy metal projectiles in combination with today's modern Celeron/Pentium microcircuitry achievements. We combined these two hi-tech advancements in technology to bring you a mind bending MicroNuclear blast in a tiny, convenient and affordable package. The blast factor of just one single Nuke50 projectile is equivalent to 1,200 pounds of TNT! That's SERIOUS firepower folks! Not only that, you don't have any chunks of Uranium laying around for someone else to have to clean up!
Prototype Nuke50 testings (as seen in the video clips) yielded even greater results but were deemed extremely unstable and far too dangerous for the moderately "close range" action found in the Nuke50 Delivery System..
What is the
"Nuke50 Delivery System?"
The Nuke50 Delivery System is a masterfully designed custom pistol chambered to fire any standard NATO .50 BMG ammunition. The pistol is outfitted with a custom proprietary "BWS Imaging System" for extreme long distance target acquisition with a hand gun. The "complete" Nuke50 Delivery systems includes a specially designed "Concealed Carry Case" and a tactical chemical/radiation suit (also seen in the video clips). Although it is not really necessary to have the entire system, it is strongly recommended for persons not properly trained or experienced in current MicroNuclear architectures and related capabilities.
Below is a video clip (in several formats) of the "Nuke50 Delivery System" during the prototype stages. As you will see by the video clips, the early versions of this product were very unstable and unpredictable . BWS, Inc. suffered many fines and regulatory measures as a result, but we simply refuse to pass these charges on to the consumer.

Molon Labe!
It's nice to have someone who is willing to fill in the gaps (rather large) in my knowledge. In this case, the volume of a gallon of water in other units.
Shalom.
. . .so it must be the "low-to-the-ground momentum" that made it a predator to dinosaurs. . .
. . .was trying to get a 'fix' on how, even a giant alligator could be that kind of threat. . .that works for me. . .kinda.
I'd want to lug a 20mm AMR (Anti Material Rifle) to make me feel better, but to take one of these bus-sized crocs down I'd suggest a humungous buried command detonated mine.
