My question is why did he/she vote this way?

My guess would be his objection to Australia's treatment of gun owners.

Probably because the Australian Government assasinated Crocodile Dundee.

They made him 'Australian Man of the Year' for his service to Australian Tourism, and then a dozen years later shoot him down like a dog.

Ron Paul is a true libertarian/strict constructionist and he consistently votes against things that he thinks are not spelled out in the constitution.

If so, you might be right ...

What an ignorant comment! Are you what they call a 'disruptor' here at FR? In any event, you certainly need to read the opening page of FR.....its purpose for being!

I understand his reasoning, but disagree with it frequently. One of the reasons why Henry Bonilla, not Ron Paul, would be the best conservative to suceed Phil Gramm. If Paul gets in, expect to see the GOP lose a lot of votes on a 50-49-1 vote (the "present" vote being cast by Ronny). He's vote against something EVEN if he supports the issue.

I believe he votes against all this sort of nonsense.....in all likelihood, it cost $10,000 to $50,000 for the government of the USA to tell the government of Austraila they're nice friends! Multiply this sort of nonsense out over an entire session of Congress, and one can see what the costs are......

Amazingly, he is the only one who doesn't believe in all this 'touchy-feely' PC BS.

Congress occasionally honors people and states and organizations.

Paul votes against all of that stuff.

He's a powdered-wig, black-buckle-shoe, monocle-in-the-right-eye, knee-pants George Washington wannabe.

He's a very good, but very strange, man.

I for one would vote for Ron Paul for senator, but never Henry Bonilla. The run of the mill isn't for me anymore.

Notice how people complain when Congress takes a vacation? Hell, they could take 11 months off a year and it'd suit me just fine.

Ron Paul would never win a Republican primary in Texas. Never.

why did he/she vote this way?

Probably because it's an idiotic resolution that has absolutely nothing to do with the purpose of Congress.
