Is there a way to add a "3rd Anniversary" to the title thread, or something like that, so people can review the history here and update their comments annually? Good idea?

I was there. Thanks to the Broncos-Giants MNF game, I was staggering in rather late that day. Saw it all. 'Nuff said.

I played hooky from work on the afternoon of 9/10 with a friend of mine. We had a great lunch at L'Orto (off Maiden Lane) and then walked up to the mall under the WTC. Being total snobs (!), we mocked the kinda crappy stores that were there and poked fun at tourists. Then we went back to the office at Maiden Lane and Pearl St. (3 blks. SW of the site) and took off for home rather early.
My friend's husband had his first, last and only meeting in the South Tower on 9/11. He left voicemails to her, etc. She hasn't been the same.
I know the smell. I've seen the site. It coulda been me. Let's take care of the problem.

I live in Oklahoma City and understand a bit about the smell and the "never being the same".
It is a very great shame that an entire Political Convention, for one of our major parties, was held and approximately 15 minutes were devoted to the terrorism of 9/11.
I would never have believed, in three short years, it could happen that the events of that day would be forgotten. Yet, for their own small agenda, there is a huge percentage of the population that has, seemingly, chosen to forget the horror and sadness.
