Investigators now have the name of person of interest, according to three sources, though no arrest warrant has been issued. Authorities posted images earlier Thursday of a "person of interest" and asked the public for help in identifying the individual. A law enforcement official said investigators have "good video footage" of the suspect and also recovered the weapon used in the shooting.

We need him alive so we can roll up any co-conspirators. Did anyone supply the gun? Supply intel? Supply training? Act as decoys? Supply funding?
I wouldn’t expect an FBI update until they’ve either seized any co-conspirators before they can go to ground or are confident that there aren’t any. Once they catch the shooter they’ll want to look at everyone he’s contacted for at least the past six months to look for a conspiracy. They’ll want to grab any conspirators before announcing that they have the shooter.

He’s a “person of interest” and not a suspect. If they find a real trigger man, then he was a lone gunman, or possibly working with a few others. If they never find the trigger man, then it was another CIA hit, and you will never find him. My money is on the latter.
Mr. Waterboard needs the assassin alive so that the assassin can tell him everything he ever knew.
