The announcement appeared stark but not overwhelmingly surprising, considering Netanyahu has long appeared to want to take control of Gaza regardless of whatever deal he might or might not strike with Hamas.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday he plans to take control Gaza.
The statement in a Fox News Channel interview, though stark, does not make clear whether he has any intention of negotiating with Palestinian-backed Hamas, which controls the region and with whom Israel has been at war since October 2023. However, he said Gaza being liberated from Hamas control is an imperative.
Netanyahu also said he would meet with his security cabinet Thursday evening to discuss plans for Gaza.
During the pre-taped interview, Netanyahu said Israel doesn't want to "keep or govern" the Gaza Strip, but intends to fully take it over.
"We don't want to be there as a governing body," he said. "We want to hand it over to Arab forces that will govern it properly without threatening us and giving Gazans a good life. That's not possible with Hamas."
The war in Gaza follows Hamas's terror attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, resulting in 1,200 people being killed.
The Gaza Health Ministry reports that tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians have been killed since the start of the war, according to The Associated Press.

There are people on this planet that are just awful. People that no one wants to be around. I’m glad we can’t read minds because those folks would be shocked to learn what people think of them. That being said, I wouldn’t wish the people of Gaza on anyone. Satan uses pawns like them like spears, and just chucks them at his enemies.
That would end half of the rocket attacks.
Gaza is ungovernable, so long as these monsters live there. Push them all into the Sinai. Maybe after 40 years in the desert, like the Hebrew, they can be civilized enough to live among other humans.
And he wants to ship the resident “Palestinians” to Europe and the USA so they’re our problem instead of his.
“We want to hand it over to Arab forces that will govern it properly without threatening us and giving Gazans a good life.
That implies he wouldn’t do that.
He’s already taken control of Gaza. And if he wants to ship Palestinians here he will, cause he’s taken control of the US as well.
Netanyahu wants perpetual war so he can stay in office and out of jail!
Let’s use the one of the Left’s favorite phrases: Right Of Return.
Israel foolishly allowed Islamofascistnazis to “occupy” Gaza. Time for Israel’s right of return.
Speaking of occupation, there is an historic Jewish area under Arab occupation. While some call it the West Bank, history knows it as Judea. (Jew-day-uh for those of you in Rio Linda)
Pave ‘paradise’, put up a parking lot.
After every human is ejected from Gaza, make it a nature preserve. Call it “The Greta Thumberg Anti-Global Warming Sustainable, Equitable, and Gluten Free Zone.”
Hell no here! France and The UK can have them.
I usually support Israel, the results of its Democracy, and the conservative Netanyahu.
But this sounds like, “Here, grab this boat anchor and hold on!”
Yah, tha jooooos own and control everything!!!

Say the Israeli LEFTISTS and you.
King of New York with Christopher Walken as Frank White.
Roy Bishop: Who made you judge and jury?
Frank White: Well, it’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it.
Gaza is Israeli land conquered in the just Six Day 1967 War.
Palis had their practice state and proved they are incapable of governance.
I think he would prefer Gaza completely free of the influence
of Hamas and thus the threat to Israel. Netanyahu has to see
Gaza as a part of the sovereign state of Israel, not a hostile
state sitting on his Western border. I think Bibi has the proper
perspective and the proper plan of action: screw Hamas and the
so-called Palestinians. If they are incapable of governing Gaza, then Israel will do it for them and they can live in Jordan
as was always intended. Oh wait. They tried that and the Jordanians
threw them out. Maybe they can be happy in Somalialand.
It’s bad enough the Israeli government controls our foreign policy and has for decades, but now they are influencing our domestic policy with regards to disaster relief? People are waking up and have had enough!
And for the record, I wouldn’t want France, or Ireland, or Albania, or any other foreign government having this kind of power in our government. But the vast majority of the Republicans in Congress didn’t go to France on their break did they?

Wow. You got me with that. Your intellect has left me speechless.
