Court documents describe surveillance video that shows the victim standing on the platform waiting for a train when the suspect walks up and hits him in the head. Author: Anthony Macuk (KGW)
PORTLAND, Ore. — The victim in an apparently unprovoked assault at the Convention Center TriMet MAX station Thursday morning has died, Portland police confirmed late Friday afternoon. Police declined to identify the victim because his family has not yet been notified of his death.
Police identified the suspected attacker as Jordan T. Christ, 30, and announced Thursday afternoon that he had been booked in Multnomah County jail on a second-degree assault charge. When announcing the victim's death on Friday, police said the Multnomah County District Attorney's office is involved in the investigation and will "consider any appropriate criminal charges."
TriMet surveillance footage showed the victim standing on the MAX platform in the moments before the incident, apparently waiting for a train, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in court Friday.
The video shows the suspect, later identified as Christ, walking down Northeast Martin Luther King Boulevard and onto the platform, where he then walks directly toward the victim, who continues to stand there and does not appear to interact with or acknowledge him, according to the affidavit.
When the suspect reaches the victim, he winds up and strikes him once in the face or head. The victim falls to the ground and lays still. The video then shows the suspect immediately walking away toward Northeast Pacific Street, according to the affidavit.
Based on his appearance in the video, police searched the area and found Christ sleeping in an alcove about 500 feet from the station. A detective who later interviewed Christ said his pupils were severely constricted and that he appeared to struggle to stay awake or focused, although he denied substance use. The investigation remains active. Anyone with information about the incident who has not yet spoken to police is asked to contact Detective Matt Brown at Matthew.Brown@police.portlandoregon.gov or 503-823-0859 or Detective Scott Broughton at Scott.Broughton@police.portlandoregon.gov or 503-823-3774 and reference case No. 25-190435.

Hopefully the victim’s family will file huge lawsuits against “all” the relevant officials who had any slightest part in “23 arrests and little jail time”...
It is time that these scum get put down like mad dogs...
Multnomah county is a lefty hive of scum and villainy..
Are we supposed to forgive this savage because his pupils were constricted and he was sleepy? Jail and never let him out.
Like I said, Oregon would be 100% better if Portland was bombed with rat poison.
It’s a democrat created cesspool just like Seattle, LA and NYC.
Businesses and sane people have been moving out in droves.
“The video shows the suspect, later identified as Christ, walking down Northeast MARTIN LUTHER KING BOULEVARD”
Usual suspect.
They use to keep crazy people locked up. Does not do any good letting them roam free.
Satan’s demons at work.
Rampant drugs.
Looks somewhat like Charles Manson on one of Charlie’s good days.
Nothing good happens on a MLK Blvd after 2 PM
Is that a tat? Or a JAIL t shirt ?
Forget it, Jake. It’s Portland.
Guy looks either loaded or mentally ill. Or both.
Forget it Jake, it’s Portland. Some POS liberal Judge will let him go without any jail time after some POS DA reduces the charge down to littering.
