It worked exactly how it was intended. A bunch of federal money for people who did nothing for it. Another treasury heist.

For the amount of money that was spent on the gravy train NASA could have sent to and maybe even recovered astronauts to Mars (another spectacularly idiotic waste of money, but at least it would have had entertainment value)

You know all those famous Japanese high speed trains?
well, they offered to give California one for FREE (Los Angeles/Orange County/San Diego — so that’s almost at Tiajuana)

and there was some powerful ($$$$$$) quiet political lobbying and guess what? The California politicians managed to impose such burdensome bureaucrappic barriers and hurdles in the way of the (free gift) project....that the Japanese FINALLY just gave up on it

Noticing that the LA/Anaheim-OC/San Diego corridor is the closest thing California has to a viable passenger train route (due to population density all along the line)...tho it would still require massive taxpayer subsidy to maintain and operate.

By comparison, the socalled Bullet train would have gone about 400 miles through mostly uninhabited open range, mountains, semi-desert, you name it. with just a couple significant cities enroute. A far far far far less economically viable line by any standards.

So the bottom line... California’s corrupt political system has seen to losing both proposed rail lines (and a ton of taxpayer money poured down the rathole of the socalled bullet train SF?LA one)

two losers. The California way nowadays. Only the politicians come out ahead in California

The idea of a high speed train is good. But it quickly became a money pit—Better idea—A high speed train from LA to Las Vegas and one from Oakland/San Francisco to Reno/ Tahoe. Bring back gambling ships off the coast and gambling on River boats in the American River—SF to Sacto.
Nevada needs a high speed train From Las Vegas to Carson City/Reno (With a stop at tonapah). Being mostly desert it shouldn’t be too hard to build. Being all in one state these Railroad would be state operated.

Virtually no one in Las Vegas wants high speed rail from Compton except maybe the stadiums and The Palms. Enough low-lifes are already driving here and causing problems.

indeed.
and personally (I know a lot of FRers will disagree) I rather like expanding into space. Mars is a prime selection for this endeavor.

ps:
(I do NOT rely on his opinion for mine here, but Eric Weinstein includes some interesting thoughts about expanding into outer space... in this otherwise-unrelated video....and come to think on it, many FRers will enjoy his main topic in this video, namely who ran the Epstein operation... since Epstein seems to be the current fad on FR? Smiles. Okay on that. See what you think...

it appears tho that the LA/LV choo choo may be the only one that could actually happen?

when you mention LV, you are dealing with The Palms and the other big casino operators and now the stadium and ball team. (yes, also now the hotel union bosses)
Big money interests. That have a long tradition of running Vegas.
They do not usually ask local residents what they want. Vegas is a business to these folks, not a residentially-oriented community of normal people.

Perhaps tho, there is already plenty of gambling to sap Californians’ pocket-books?

Indian casinos galore.
State politicians run a big lottery.
And Vegas is already a pretty fast hop from Los Angeles metro area
plus now tons of internet gambling

maybe more constructive objectives?

If that’s the case, how did hidenbiden’s minions get the money back after President Trump defended it in his first term?

Hi!
There still are some worthwhile shows in Vegas …
But alas, the free or almost free meals went away
Smiles smiles
I’d be going to some of the shows

Eric Weinstein(IMO part of the national intelligence): Jeffrey Epstein Was A Front! The Collapse Has Already Started

Eric Weinstein in a nut shell is claiming Epstein was a Q-Clearance. Which he talks about Q-Clearance(secrecy level) earlier in this video. Connected to mathematics department at Harvard. Which Trump is cutting off Harvard now.
https://youtu.be/I-iyGGPabpI?t=7261

That would be a mind blower.
I always have to go back and re-evaluate what I believe to be true: It's kind of sad but it's the reality we live in.
"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." - William casey CIA

on the other hand:
Eric Weinstein being part of the intelligence community and Trump just shut down Global Engagement Center(GEC) new version of Operation Mockingbird.

The primary issue I think he was saying WITHOUT directly saying it.
Intelligence community knows they screwed up bad with the Plandemic and intelligence community is in "Collapse".
Weinstein sounded anxious and mixed up. 🧐

I would like to hear feedback on the last part of his rambling(I time stamped where to start.) Remember they always give interesting truths before the lie.
Yes. Eric Weinstein was rambling for 2 hours (before the time stamp) because he is mixed up and confused IMO.

Now pull California’s special exception which allows them to regulate car emissions, pull funding for illegal aliens and pull funding for rebuilding LA which they themselves destroyed with their deliberate policies.

Make California pay for California’s socialism and Gaia worship.

“The completed project will cost a projected $130 Billion”

The projections never seem to be right, imagine that. Dimwitted voters went for the initial projection when they went to the polls in 2008.Prop 1A only authorized 9.8 billion of what was “projected” to be a 33 billion project. Move over Boston, your fantastic failure known as the Big Dig pails in comparison to what Kalifornia has managed to not accomplish.
