Just one day after House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries wrapped up his self-indulgent “magic minute” marathon, the truth is starting to surface: Even many Democrats weren’t impressed. His hours-long fauxibuster—meant to stall the inevitable passage of the GOP’s One Big, Beautiful Bill—ended up accomplishing absolutely nothing for the Democrats’ cause. The only minds that were changed were Republicans who flipped from “no” to “yes.”
Let’s not kid ourselves. This wasn’t some bold act of resistance or savvy legislative tactic. It was performative grandstanding, plain and simple—a desperate attempt to look like he’s fighting while doing absolutely nothing to stop the bill.

Absolutely funny as hell! LMAO
Mr. Bo Jangles can’t think, but he can dance.
It was an embarrassing spectacle but l doubt it moved any votes in either direction.
FNC showed the whole thing but with not audio. I guess Skyhook couldn’t afford one of those sign language guys. It was a joke anyway. Funny stuff. Watch Mr. Egghead’s lips were moving as usual but nothing that made any sense was coming out.
Another Spartacus?
He should have just pulled the fire alarm like any normal Democrat would.
If he talked like a normal person, he could have done it in 90 m I minutes
The boy is kinda slow
Ladies & gentlemen, we have a new buzzword. Anybody else been hearing 'performative' frequently showing up in commentaries lately?
Isn’t Hakeem a muslim name?
Maybe if the people in the background didn’t keep falling asleep??
Oh, boo hoo. As Walter would say: Oh, shut up or Oh, drop dead.
I’m no Democrat, but the Dems used to offer alternative ideas. Obviously our budget deficit is a problem and one-way to get a handle on it is to force people to work 80 hours/month before they get medicaid. Dems, if you don’t like this approach, fair enough. But, I don’t want to hear a bunch of whining and crying and to be called names. I want to hear your alternative ideas. This is what adults do.
Alternatively, if you’re against our immigration laws being enforced (most of which were passed by Clinton I might add), explain that idea to me. It seems radical. Why don’t you try to strike a deal with GOP on this matter such as: We’ll forever guarantee full border control enforcement, if you let the people who’ve been here over five years have legal status. Trump might agree to that if they don’t count on the census and not allowed to vote. I’m just throwing things out there, but this is what a mature party would do. They negotiate. They offer ideas. They participate in the national discussion. Mature parties don’t throw rocks at ICE of call President Trump Hitler. Dems... you are off the rails. Grow up, offer an alternative, or get the heck out of the way. If you choose to none of the above, you will be pushed out of the way which is exactly what’s happening right now.
The big difference between the parties....Trumpsters are always smiling and positive.
Dems are always scowling, angry and negative.
If Skyhook’s press conference meant anything to the RATs, they wouldn’t have had to play musical chairs trying to make it look like the Ratsasses GAS about what the boy was saying.
The TV was on various media outlets for most of the morning. For a lot of the time the minority (is that politically correct?) leader was imposed in a picture-in-picture format tucked neatly into one corner with no audio. What I found striking was that, most of the time his lips weren’t moving - constant pauses for (no) effect.
If he were speaking at a “normal” pace, he could have spoken all of the words in under an hour.
Pure theater - which describes 99% of what you see from any and all democrats.
In a proper setting he would have been dodging rotten fruit...
Jeffries could still count on Massie (KY) and Fitzpatrick (PA).
These guys (Dems) cannot come up with an original action if they had to. Jeffries parroting Booker is not a winning tactic.
And telling the average working American that nameless poor people will loose Medicaid is not going to work either. Too many of us have had to fill out the Nursing Home Medicaid applications for our parents. We know that they have been “sucked” dry and they still don’t cover everyone. If there are people who never worked climbing on that gravy train, they get little sympathy from the people.
There are certain truths that the American media just don’t speak of. It’s not that Americans aren’t sympathetic to the disabled or truly indigent; its that we don’t tolerate laziness or stupidity.
I give him credit for having one hell of a bladder.
That’s what happens with end stage DEI.
When intelligence, ability, logic, rationality, competence are selected against, Jeffries is selected for.
