Surging Mamdani cuts Cuomo’s lead in Democratic NYC mayoral primary to just single digits: poll

Democratic socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani is surging, cutting ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s frontrunner status in the Democratic primary to just a single digit lead, according to a new poll released Wednesday.

The latest PIX 11/ Emerson College poll has the Queens state Assemblyman holding his own with Cuomo for 10 rounds of ranked-choice voting before being eliminated with a nine-point spread, 54.4% to 45.6%.

But with less than a month to the June 24 Democratic mayoral primary, only a small fraction of voters appear to be up for grabs, with 3.5% of voters still undecided, according to the survey conducted May 23 to 26.

“With four weeks to go, the question is whether Cuomo can run out the clock, or if he needs to win over second-choice voters to hold off Mamdani’s momentum,” said Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling.

How does Dominion & Diebold write an algorithm to flip votes when the candidates are the same? My guess is who pays the best and race. Equity and Inclusion dominates the vote selections like it or not.

Another effing socialist? Does NYC ever learn? They deserve what they are getting, and I hope they get it hard.
Since they want to become a third world city, why not take a shorter route and elect someone who follows the religion of hate, rape, beheading, and misogyny?

Zohran sounds Persian, but then the mayoral election in NYC is always a Farsi

New York City got two decades of reprieve first by Giuliani attacking street crime and cleaning the city up and then by Bloomberg, who, although he is a liberal, was smart enough to keep most of his predecessor's reforms in place. NYC is regressing back to the dark days of the 1960-85 period, perhaps even worse, on a course to become the Detroit of the Eastern Seaboard.

How could we tell the difference? :) Hopefully Adams can beat the Dem, that would be hilarious. ABC, anybody but Cuomo

I don’t know what I’ll be happier to watch - NYC immediately regretting electing a Socialist who drives the city over a cliff, or arrogant Cuomo losing the race.

I’m with you, I’m rooting for the socialist, at least at this point the Cuomo has killed a lot more people than the socialist.

It would be very interesting to watch the Financial Capital of the World having a socialist mayor.

London has Sadiq Khan, NYC might as well have something similar.

If he loses, watch Cuomo sue to have ranked choice voting overturned...or perhaps the other guy will if that guy loses...will be fun to watch!
