The fires were racist

I’m sure they voted for the marxist mayor because she was best suited for the job.

Well, they should be thankful and happy it all occurred under the management of the head of the Congressional Black Caucus, and self appointed African Princess at large.

Dear UCLA,
Next time remember. The correct sequence is study then findings. Study then findings. It is not findings then study.

Redlining? Wasn’t Redlining outlawed decades ago? What the heck?
To: artichokegrower
Those guys are slow! That “study” should have been completed years ago and just sitting in the can ready to pull out, dust it off, and publish at a moment’s notice.
Instead, it took them TWENTY TWO days after the fires started to get that “work” completed and published. What took them so long?

Altadena has a town council that acts as an ombudsman for the Altadena neighborhoods, and provides a forum for town meetings. Altadena is formally managed by the Los Angeles County Supervisors, and is located in LA County Supervisorial District 5, under Supervisor Kathryn Barger. Kathryn Barger is a Republican.
Possibly the reason that UCLA picked it to "study." I thought I knew SOCAL pretty well, but I've never heard of Altadena.

So, the Blacks in Altadena were living in the higher elevations? Funny sort of city where the poor live in the heights.

"... systemic inequality and redlining contributed to fire vulnerability." Surprised it took this long before the grubby hands of black racism would demand reparations for the fire...

Per AI:
Higher Exposure to the Fire Perimeter: Approximately 61% of Black households in Altadena were located within the fire perimeter, compared to 50% of non-Black households.

It’s whities fault that made these blacks live closer to the Fire Perimeter.
And I’d like to see the race background for whites over blacks that lost everything overall in all locations.
Yeah, this fire was racist. In that it spared more blacks than whites.

Redlining was outlawed decades ago. And I am surprised the L.A. Daily News is still around.

Everyone was white before the fire.

Throughout the west you will find in predominately black neighborhoods the trees are not watered.
Baffling.
