It’s become a familiar story.
A man is about to reach an upper echelon of public life when an accusation from his past resurfaces.
Sometimes it’s a bad joke made in a woman’s presence or a rebuffed advance while the man was in a supervisor role.
Other times it’s far more serious accusations of assault.
The latter is what is happening right now to Donald Trump’s pick for secretary of defense, Pete Hegseth.
It’s the Brett Kavanaugh show all over again.
Hegseth has vigorously denied the accusation, but that hasn’t mattered.
The media has gone into smear-fest mode and won’t stop until they get a scalp.
Republicans should not let them take Hegseth’s.
The assault story is suspect, and it’s OK to say so.
The police report details that a “Jane Doe” had seen Hegseth flirt with some women at the conference, Doe approached him to tell him off, specifically that she “did not appreciate how he treated women.”
Video surveillance showed them leaving the hotel for the pool area after 1 a.m.
A hotel employee found them loudly arguing shortly thereafter.
That employee says that Hegseth appeared intoxicated.
Doe apologized for the noise, placed her hand on his back and led him away to his room.
Doe’s husband was also at the hotel and texted her close to 2 a.m., wondering where she was.
When she returned to her room at 4 a.m., she reportedly lied to her husband that she had fallen asleep on someone’s couch.
It wasn’t until several days later that she reported what she alleged happened with Hegseth.

The author doesn’t do anyone any favors by comparing Kavanaugh and Hegseth. Hegseth might make a fine Secretary of Defense but the left doesn’t have to work very hard to make accusations that he has brought on himself.
so she has consensual sex with him, lies to her husband about it and then regrets it and confesses to him 2 days later. Not seeing sexual assault here, just a lying hoe

The Left screamed “sexism,” but it publicly outlined his moral code and standards he forced himself to adhere to, and moreover, it put the Democrat propagandists, and the hypocritical woke-left on notice that they could not pull this character assassination ploy on him.

That’s so true.
Hegseth had just divorced his second wife in August 2017 and in Oct 2017 he’s screwing his accuser while his future third wife is pregnant with his child. Add the rumor that his first divorce was due to infidelity and the left doesn’t have to break a sweat to bring accusations.
Not to mention, Hegseth has been married 3 times and cheated on all 3 wives. Still, infidelity in and of itself shouldn’t disqualify anyone from getting a job. That applies to members of both parties.

In my opinion any Democrat politician who causes trouble should be SWAT’d and brought up on charges of child molestation, with their wives and children also arreted as accessories. Let’s see how fast the lawyer fees can bankrupt them. One at a time. Until they decide that they don’t want to play this game.

I don't care one bit about some cowardly "Jane Doe" getting pissed that Hegseth flirted with another woman, and then they go outside and get into an argument. So what if Hegseth was intoxicated, warriors and just about every shipmate I knew in my 11 years also drank.
It also indicates he cannot trust himself.

No she didn’t. She lied to her husband that night. IF it was rape why didn’t she tell her husband? Why wait until she got back 4 days later? She went for a rape kit ar an Oakland hospital 100 miles away from Montgomery.
